Comments about Salomon X Pro 120 Ski Boots 2015:

Got these boots and was fairly satisfied with the general fit, but decided to heat mold them myself. I put each shell in my oven at 240 for 11 minutes then popped the liner back in and wore the boot for a little while. The fit now is absolutely amazing, by far the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, it feels warm the moment you put it on, and offers great power transmission and walkabiltiy. I'm using these with custom surefoot orthodics and have zero discomfort.

    Some tips for custom fitting:
Definitely bake the shell before you mess with the liner, it doesn't have to be super hot, 10 minutes at 240 left plenty of residual heat to mold the boot without rushing. If you have problem areas on your foot, or would like some more space in the toe area for example, wear a thin sock inside your ski sock. Cut it to the shape/area that you want some extra space in, or use a few layers of sports tape. Make sure you are standing up, and if possible, have the boot in a binding so that the liner and shell mold to the positioning of your foot when you're actually skiing.

Comments about Salomon X Pro 120 Ski Boots 2015:

Purchased these to replace my Technica Icon Alu's. They served me well for many seasons, but were mush the last year. This season was a do or die boot year. Glad I found these.
Purchased the true size for my smaller right foot (26.5), but with the idea that my preferred toe box is about 101mm or so. I think I could have gone down a size and had a more "race fit" and still been OK, but these are for my all mountain escapades. These are great.
Flex is pretty soft in the store/warmth, but they firm up nicely on the hill. I think the 120 flex is a bit high. These aren't rocks, they flex pretty nicely, but not too much that they are soft. I skied 3 days to start the season and found them to rip the groomers and the bumps without issue. My feet were still happy going nearly bell to bell on day 2. Pretty amazing for a new pair of boots.
Fit was easy-ish. You need to either go to your local shop and have them use their ovens to get these warmed up or you can do it at home with some precautions and being thoughtful. But the thermal molded plastic shell works very well. I was able to get my left foot to fit into a boot that is 1/2 size too small and they fit nicely - dare I say comfortably? My smaller right foot was happy too. So I was able to get a good tight, but comfortable, fit on both feet. You can find the process online, and you should speak with your local techs to be sure you aren't going to ruin your new boots. But it is pretty easy.

It is tough to find boots that are decent for wide feet (104mm last), but these heat moldable shells are awesome!

Comments about Salomon X Pro 120 Ski Boots 2015:

Replaced 3 year old Technica's with this boot. Only skied 1 day. Amazing fit that results in terrific ability to direct the skis. Best day of bump skiing in decades (I'm 53, but used to race). Completely due to the boots. I look forward to breaking them in further, but I must caution that the first runs were painful and I needed Advil the following morning due to foot pain, not due to rubbing or other pains. I should mention that I wanted to buy the 130's, but after trying on 2 different pairs, they were extremely painful to my feet, and I didn't dare buy them.
