Comments about Salomon SPK Kaos Ski Boots 2010:

Great boots. I'd classify myself as an advanced skier starting to branch into park. These absorb shock really well and they're very lightweight making them great jumping boots. I've taken these things in powder, groomed runs, moguls, ice and the terrain park. They excel on the groomed slopes and the big jumps. They're also very capable on the other stuff. The stiffness of the boot transfers my movements to the skis really well, making them very responsive. As someone who's still progressing in the sport, I find that the boots' toe cushion system makes backseat mistakes a lot more forgiving on the toes. This is a boot for someone who just graduated up from blacks and is looking to get into double blacks and the terrain park. It's helped me pushed my skiing to new limits and increased the limits of my potential. These boots have a wide v-shaped last so they'll fit wider toes with a slimmer heel. I typically wear 9.5 EE and these boots in 26.5 work awesome.

There are two cons to be aware of. The boot is very stiff when cold and that makes it extremely hard to put them on. Every skier should be warming their boots up anyway before putting them on, but something to be aware of if you forget your kicks in the trunk overnight. The other con is that there is no adjustability in forward lean or lateral. These lock you into a more upright stance that works well for park but not so much for racers. If you're knock-kneed or bowlegged, footbeds will correct any lateral play.

Overall, the Kaos boots are primo freestylin' kicks.
