Very comfortable. J bars help to keep your heel in place. I've had trouble finding a boot snug enough to maintain control without hurting my instep. These provide a good balance of toe box width, instep height and heel hugging. Although there's only the micro adjustable buckles to deal with ankle width, I had no trouble with ankle pinch like I've experienced on all but a few boots. The curve of the tongue is a little wider than usual, so no hard edge digging into the front of my ankle! The only complaint would be the insoles - very light weight and narrower in the toe than the liner. useless. I upgraded to Superfeet, shaping the toe to better utilized the width of the boot and give better heel support.

I was very excited to get these; however, as soon as I tried to put them on, I knew they had to go back. I have worn a 23.5 for the last 10 years and never had a problem with that size....until now. These DEFINITELY run a 1/2 size too small- The toe box is just not long enough. They seem like they would be good boots if they fit though.
