Comments about Lange Venus 9 Ski Boots - Women's 2010:

I got really bad shin splits wearing these boots the first time. A ski boot expert in Park City, UT said the width was good, but the boot was a full size too large for me. I went by the sizing measurement on-line and confirmed over the phone with EVO rep. The expert said you can always make the boot larger, but you can't make it smaller. So be careful about the size you order.

Comments about Lange Venus 9 Ski Boots - Women's 2010:

This is the first pair of ski boots I've purchased for myself, having previously rented for the season. These are great boots - way more comfortable and at the same time high-performing than the rental boots I am used to. One of the features I love is the quilted down inside the boot. You might still need foot warmers when its 15 and below, but if you're in the 20s and higher these boots will keep your feet adequately toasty. Very easy entry and exit. And to be honest - they look good (shouldn't be important, but it is an added plus).

Two cons: 1) These boots scuff very easily. I can tell that they are going to look pretty beat up after a single full season. This is only cosmetic damage, but a little annoying that the exterior plastic is soft and malleable. 2) They are strikingly heavy... I have worn unisex and men's boots of a similar size that are lighter than these. I don't notice it much when I'm skiing, but lugging the boots around when they're not on my feet it always shocks me how heavy they are.

If you are interested in Lange because you have narrow feet, these are good boots but you will probably get an even snugger fit with a higher line performance boot from Lange. These fit nicely around my narrow feet and heel, but once my heel is in the heel box, it still has more wiggle room than I would ultimately like when I progress to Expert level skiing.
