Lange Blaster 80 Ski Boots 2011: The Lange Blaster 80 Ski Boots are the best fitting in Lange’s history. Why, you ask? These babies are alpine boots with a ski/hike feature, and that unique combination lets it move with your movement. Based on Lange’s new “Control Fit” philosophy, the Lange Blaster 80 Ski Boots combine appropriate width across the forefoot with a more articulate heel pocket. This compelling fit makes it downright blissful for those breathtaking days when you aren’t willing to take breaks to massage your numb and swollen toes.
Materials
The 102mm Blaster last, developed with high tech 3D-imaging systems to most accurately mirror the modern foot’s anatomical shape, features innovative fits in the toe box, 6th toe, navicular and instep areas, while maintaining the strong Lange heel pocket. Ultra grip soles made of soft rubber provide a comfortable damped and no-slip hiking or walking experience.
Liner
The unique Control Fit liner consists of a true lasted liner, anatomical padding, a one piece toe box, an instep pocket, and saddle stitched seams.
Additional Features
A longer, deeper toe dam provides tighter seal against moisture and snow. The easy entry and exit concept allow just that without compromising four-buckle boot performance.
Cuff Shape
The Blaster shell is built with modern, efficient neutral and upright stance, derived from Lange’s Race Department World Cup boots. This includes a 4 degree ramp angle, 14 degree forward lean, and 0 degree medial/lateral stance.
Flex and Fit
Flex: Soft to Medium (80)
Forefoot width: 102mm
Delivering the broadest, most versatile fit on the market, it still delivers a snug heel fit for exceptional ski control.

I have to admit, the entry and exit is not that easy, it's not that hard either as long as you fully extend the tongue out and stretch the instep part further apart, it should be as comparable to the Tecnica Mega 8/10 models.

I debated between the Lange Blaster 80 and the Technical Mega 10. The latter is of course noticeably roomier at 105mm than the Lange's 102mm last. I however decided on the Lange Blaster as it provides very comfortable instep, even before REI adjusted the liner.

I've been using 104mm but 102 last isn't noticeably narrower than the 104 or 105 last, in my opinion. Perhaps because this Lange's liners are not overly cushioned.

The buckles are metal. There is not a ski-walk switch as claimed.

Comments about Lange Blaster 80 Ski Boots 2011:

Chose this boot for its more moderate flex. As an older skier, I'm not as aggressive as I once was. That said, this boot gives me all the control I want (or would need)without sacrificing any comfort. Like all the boots I've owned (mainly Langes), they do require getting used to.

These boots were a great christmas gift for my husband. He was able to test them out at Heavenly Lake Tahoe this past weekend. This is the first pair of ski boots he has owned and it makes such a big difference. No more funky rental boots!
Would definitely recommend these and EVO. The first pair I ordered were a little snug, EVO made the exchange process easy and no additional cost. Customer service was great! Thank you

My wife did all the research and in the end chose these boots for me. I've been skiing for 30 years and these are by far my favorite boots I've had. They are stiff enough to be very responsive in the trees and moguls. They are very comfortable for landing jumps and to wear all day. First boots to ever keep my toes warm.

A simple and clumsy boot. Keeps warmth, flex is OK. Difficult to get in and out and the buckling system is wrong for the boot and quite difficult and timelz in buckling up. Looks better than it peforms.
