The Lange Banshee W Ski Boot is built using the powerful RL 11 shell with a new lower women’s cuff. This shell has the long flex pattern that Lange is famous for which allows the skier to control how much power is going into the ski. Used for years on the World Cup by Downhill and Super G skiers, the RL 11 shell gets a few tweaks for all mountain skiing. Loaded with features including an elastic power strap, shock absorbing toe box and boot board, external gel tongue pad and quilted down liner make the Lange Banshee W a powerful all mountain ski boot.

  • Advanced to Expert level woman skiers looking for a powerful all mountain boot. Legendary Lange heel cup that holds the foot in place, an anatomical shape that wraps around the foot. This shell shape is best described as fitting like a glove and not a mitten. This shell shape best suites woman skiers with medium volume feet, and an athletic calf.
  • Balanced and powerful progressive flex. The Banshee W cuff is a completely new design that is 1.5cm shorter with a new shape and fit. The cuff allows better ankle flex which leads to better steering and control.
  • Thermo liner, yet heat moldable. 3-4 minutes heat time at 140 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect. If you don't have a heat source available, the boot should fit closely after about 20-30 minutes on the foot.
  • Warm Inside liner concept with fleece and lycra for added warmth. External gel tongue pad that absorbs shock through a sheering action, non-slip sole on liner for a more positive feel, elastic therm-ic toe box.. More "V" shape than straight. This cuff was designed specifically for a woman's calf.
  • Replaceable Vibram soles, shock absorbing boot board, Thick elastic power strap, soft to the touch buckles.

Comments about Lange Banshee Ski Boots - Women's 2009:

I work as a ski instructor, and have a racing background. I purchased this boot because I like a performance fit. However, the elastic pad on the shin combined with a 125 flex rating resulted in bruising and shin bang. I had to have the pad removed, which cannot be done without ripping the cuff. Additionally, the toe box is extremely snug, and needed to be blown out.

I have also had trouble with the power strap spinning around and unscrewing itself.

Comments about Lange Banshee Ski Boots - Women's 2009:

I switched to this boot after racing from j5 through college. I needed something warmer and comfier than my race boots for my new life of pleasure skiing, and the Banshees fit the bill! They are stiff enough to handle aggressive turns, but soft and warm enough to wear in all conditions. I've had problems with frostbite on my feet my whole life, but these keep my tootsies toasty. I've even used these boots with AT bindings to do backcountry skiing (admittedly they are a bit stiff for that purpose but they still work well enough). These boots definitely don't give you as much control as a race boot (I tried them with my old slalom race skis and I noticed the lack of sensitivity), but you can't have the best of both worlds and these are darn good. I rated these as "too narrow" because Langes are narrow -- fine for those with narrow feet like me.
