    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.

Comments about Full Tilt Growth Spurt Ski Boots - Youth- Boy's 2012:

Bought these for my 4 year old. She measures an 18.5 now, so I figure these will last a couple of seasons (at which point she'll probably need a sturdier boot). The flex is nice and soft, and the adjustment mechanism looks easy to use. I love the liner--seems warm and comfortable. They are also very lightweight and short on height, which is what I was looking for. I was worried water would leak in through the overlap where they stretch, but the gasket looks pretty well-made. We'll see how they work!

Comments about Full Tilt Growth Spurt Ski Boots - Youth- Boy's 2012:

Bought these for my 4 year old daughter who is a solid intermediate skier. I am overall happy with the purchase, but will not be using these for nearly as long as I had hoped. Here's why. The pros: They are a "real" ski boot that comes in a small size (the rear entry ones are junk, IMO) and have a solid shell and a really great soft flex. They are also *very* easy to get her into every morning. That said, they are very tricky to buckle (you have to really make sure the tongue is in the right place with all of the fiddly plastic tabs over it (not under it)--my husband can never get it right, for instance. And, worse, the shell seems to let in a fair amount of water. Not sure if that is dripping off the buckles when we take them off or if it is coming through the gasket where the size adjusts. Her liners are almost always wet at the end of the day and have to be removed to dry out (I somehow doubt the liners will last as long as the boots at this rate). Also, know that while intuition makes the liners, they are neoprene in the toe box, so I can't imagine they are nearly as warm as the liners intuition is known for. They are cold, wet scuba-suit toes at the end of the day. All that said, I like them because they have a solid shell, a soft flex, and are insanely easy to get on and off... a combination that is almost impossible to find in a size 18 boot, and that is key for a decent but very young skier. FWIW, I will almost certainly be upgrading her to a regular front-entry boot next year for warmth/water tightness and ease of buckling--I just know she'd have a really hard time getting those on this year, so these are a good in-between step for her.

Need both hands to put it on, especially with the black flap. It can be tricky for children. Else it's a good pair. Daughter loved the color
