Atomic Volt Ski Boots 2011: The new Atomic Volt Ski Boots are ideal for freestylers who, just like freestyle icon Jossi Wells, prefer firm support in all situations. It’s comparatively hard flex for a freestyle boot and narrow 98mm last width deliver just the right amount of support for jumps and tricks. The full-length Shockilla insert cushions even the hardest of landings, while the Ridge Walker sole provides superb grip on all terrain. The ASY Pro Park liner also provides optimum comfort.

      The boots have been great right out of the box. Before the Volt, I thought all Atomic boots were super wide. After riding this a few days, adding a little stiffness to the flex and new custom foot beds are probably the only modifications I'll make. Despite going back to a race fit, these don't feel like a pro bump skier vice grip. The Shockilla inserts work really well, they aren't a gimmick to sell boots to park skiers. If I land a little back seat, my toes definitely jam forward but I can feel the energy dissipate through the cushy inserts.

          The size was not what I was expecting. It was true to width and great for my skinny foot. I rock a 26.5 in nordicas an now my new tecnicas. I ordered the same size in these boots and they were HUGE. I suggest checking the shell size of your current boots and comparing it to the shell size of these before buying. Other than that, the flex felt pretty true to form and if in doubt, it was definately a little softer than advertised, not stiffer. Perfect for a park/freeride boot or if your just a smaller person like me
