Comments about Atomic Hawx 120 Ski Boots 2013:

The boots ski great. They are perfect for someone that has high insteps that can also be used with custom insoles. I checked out virtually every brand to find a boot that I could get into (those with high insteps will know what I am talking about).

I like a tight upper boot and only looked at 4 buckle boots. Just didn't think the new 3 buckle boots would work for me.

At first I thought the I-flex on both sides of the boot was a gimmick - but gosh darn if it doesn't work! I ski about 100 days a year at Squaw Valley and pretty much stay on the steep trails (Chute, Split Tree, Slot etc). I was amazed on how much edge control these boots provide and I have to contribute it to the I-flex inserts. I turn quicker and with more control on the steeps. I just hope the inserts don't affect boot longevity (my last boots lasted 6 years).

Boots are very comfortable and there is no pain or hot spots after 5-6 hours of daily skiing. I contribute this to the fact that you can heat up the liners for a perfect fit. My boot fitter added a small piece of liner on the top of my foot during the heat fit process to give me a bit more space in the liner - and this really helped on the fit comfort.

I usually don't provide good product reviews but I am so pleased with these boots - I had to submit this. It took me a while to find a boot given my foot configuration - so I figured I would help out guys with similar foot/fit issues. Enjoy

Comments about Atomic Hawx 120 Ski Boots 2013:

Took these out today for a typical new england opening day: crummy snow, warm weather, and snow guns everywhere.
Before these I had nordica doberman's but since I was done race now i wanted a little more comfort.
I measured my foot with a ruler and followed the size guide from that and the length seems perfect.
The fit was great, they held onto my heel very well. I put my footbeds in for better arch support and wasnt too squeezed on top of the foot. Being able to wiggle your toes a little as I'm skiing is something I havent felt in a long time and it was great. I stayed out the full first day without needing to break them in at all.

Things I didnt know before I bought them:
    1. there's a double rubber seal between the two bottom flaps to keep snow and water out when you buckle them down that I was pretty impressed with. It worked well against the snowguns.
    2. I was disappointed to see that the top strap is held on by rivets, so it will not be easy to replace with my Booster strap. Would have taken half a star for this if I could.

Comments about Atomic Hawx 120 Ski Boots 2013:

I am a snowboarder. Decided to go skiing because my kids, age 11 and 9, are now faster than me on black runs with skis. Went to a local shop in late March looking for a pair of ski boots. Due to low inventory, I was fitted with Diabello's iL Motto. It's a great freestyle boot. However, my wife hates the color scheme. My daughter ran away as soon as she saw it. My son's ski coach could not stop laughing when he saw it. Had it returned within the hour.

Went online and got this boots instead. I was measured 99mm, medium bulk, US 7.5 foot size. Mondo 25.5. I usually wear size 8.5 snowboard boots and size 9 running shoes. Atomic Hawx is 100mm wide, medium bulk. Tried it on at home. Left foot is snug fit. No problem. Right navicular region was uncomfortable. After spending an hour wearing it inside the house, the discomfort subsided. Spent another hour two days later indoor to get the boots adjusted to my foot shape. On 3/31/24, powder day in Truckee with over a foot of snow overnight, I went skiing at Alpine Meadows. Boots perform great. Very comfortable and able to give me great control on both groom, first track, and bumps. My old ski boots were 27.5. They really hurt. These new boots offer snug fit. While heavier than my snowboard boots, the 120 flex is about right for me. I like to carve on snowboard and rides with stiff snowboard boots.

Coming from a person who is used to snowboarder shoes, I am surprised how comfortable these boots are.

Comments about Atomic Hawx 120 Ski Boots 2013:

After a trip to the evo store in Seattle, and an excellent meeting with boot fit wizard Greg, I found these (last year's model) at the Outlet store. Greg got the fit right and these boots are now dialed in allowing me to have perfect control over my skis. I didn't give 5-stars, 'cause there is always room for improvement, but these boots are as close as I can get to perfect for me.

You won't go wrong with evo.com, especially if you have access to Greg in Seattle.

Great price and service. The quality of the boot seems great, good fit and features. So far have only been able to put to the test of walking around carpet in basement. Looking forward to snow trials.
