Comments about Salomon STH 12 Driver Ski Bindings (90mm Brakes) 2013:

This is my first pair of Salomon bindings. Needless to say Salomon may have have a customer for life. Clicking is as easy as stepping into a slipper. Because of this you'd think that they'd release early, but they don't. That quiet click when you step in is all it takes to keep your skis on. When it's time to take them off, a firm push of a pole will pop the first ski loose and a gentle tap with a boot will get the second one. No pole bending or boot stomping required. In 10 days on the mountain, I've yet to have them pre-release despite skiing hard. The construction is solid. The only down side is the color scheme. Definitely just a preference thing, but having at least two colors to chose from would be nice.

Comments about Salomon STH 12 Driver Ski Bindings (90mm Brakes) 2013:

The bindings felt excellent when I was riding them, but they literally lasted me five hours of skiing. I always thought when people said that, that they were just trying to be all tough and BA, but I am unhappy to say that this definitely happened to me. I am for sure unhappy with the construction of the bindings. There is a far amount of metal in the construction, but also a lot of plastic. It seems to me that they used plastic in a few crutial places (in the rails of the heelpiece) to cut cost. I wish they had been more durable, because they rode really well. One more thing: I have been riding marker griffons for three full seasons with no problems at all.

Solid binder. Perhaps a tad heavy but they're not FKS's so what do you expect

Comments about Salomon STH 12 Driver Ski Bindings (90mm Brakes) 2013:

When looking for a good downhill binding, that is affordable, and most importantly durable--the STH should be your go-to. I wouldn't describe myself as the most aggressive park skier, but I still require durability. Last year, I snapped the back piece of my marker griffons due to a poor plastic construction. The STH has more metal pieces, and is in the price range I was looking for. If you're looking for ultimate durability, and don't mind spending lots of money, something like the FKS or LOOK Pivots are probably more in your alley.
