I put these on a pair of pique 4front and i am very pleased with both the skiis and binding. Getting out of them is a little tough but that may just need to be worked a little. I dont know much about bindings but this one had a high enough setting for my weight and height and the brakes cleared the 90mm ski.

Comments about Rossignol Axial2 140 XL Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2012:

I wanted a binding that would pair up well with a set of Line Prophet 98. Most of the 100mm bindings out there appear to be based on older designs from narrow skis, and they just add a wider brake. These seem to have been designed with 100mm in mind, which gives them much better lateral edge control, as the binding itself comes out closer to the edge of the ski i.e. you couldn't even mount these on a traditional narrow ski if you wanted to, the housings themselves are too wide.

The construction seems quite solid, and entry and release are easy, particularly entry.

(To release, you need to push both down and back, but there's an obvious spot for the pole tip, and once you do it three or four times, it's just not a big deal.)

It's a bonus that they go to DIN 14, which gives some nice headroom for the tall, the heavy, or the super expert. (If I were running DIN 10 every day, I wouldn't want to do that on a max DIN 12 binding, personally.)

Comments about Rossignol Axial2 140 XL Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2012:

I'm a 6 ft, 200#, advanced, all mountain / backside skier using DIN 8.5. This is my second pair of Axial 140's. I love the smooth, flawless performance. Secure grip most of the time and smooth release when you need it. Once in a while I get an unintended heel ejection (read: faceplant) when I bust trough the crust or hit deep soft snow and may have to crank down the heel a little.
