Product Info

Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings (100 mm Brakes) 2013: The Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings are high performance bindings that come with 100 mm brakes that are perfect for fat skis. The reinforced Dual Action toepiece has 180 degree multi-directional release with high vertical and lateral elastic travel to provide shock absorption, reducing inadvertent release. The lateral arms of the heelpiece are angled down for better power transmission to the edge of the ski. With 25 mm of elastic travel, the heelpiece provides the longest travel of any binding on the market and further prevents unwanted pre-release. The Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings are high-performance binding with a DIN range of 3.5-12 for serious freeskiers.

Been skiing on Rossignols for many, many years. Sort of aggressive, and like the pow, and the groomed! I usually try to stay with the same brand bindings, hence this review. If you are looking for a winning combination, this binding and these skis go together well. I have been looking for bindings that are not heavy and can handle my weight (130) without being too expensive and too much binding(!) if there such a thing, I don't know. My usual haunts are; Crystal, and Bachelor, so the snow conditions vary quite a bit, Haven't really lost a ski(this year!). But I am confident knowing this binding is good for me. The guy that set me up was very informative and helpful about what combinations that would be good with my new E-88's. The guy who mounted them agreed..... My next choices; the new Look, or the next upper end Rossi turntable bindings. Highly recommend.

Good binding, but a bit heavy.

This looks like a solid binding and the techs did not relay any problems with installation or release testing. They are heavy in the heal piece and it is rather large. I would say...Read complete review

Comments about Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013:

Mainly a downhill dude here. Had these puppies mounted on a pair of new 160cm Rossignol Storms (waist width of 92mm). The bindings are constructed well, look good (went with the dark grey brush), and are easy to get in and out of. These are definitely a huge upgrade from the Elan bindings I was riding previously- would recommend! :D

The Rossi bindings have rotation of the toe pieces that I like. Your foot doesn't need to slide out side to side because the toe pieces will rotate to allow you to pop out. I feel as though this design has saved me a knee more than once.

Comments about Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013:

Bought these to replace an older pair. Previous pair lasted ~6 years of hard skiing. Absolutely no reason to switch to another model when I completely trust this one.

It's also nice that Look/Rossi hasn't changed the mounting pattern over the years so there was no need to re-drill.

Comments about Rossignol Axial2 120 XL Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013:

Bought these based on reviews, because I was looking for an alpine binding in the 4-12 DIN range. Narrowed my selection to the Rossi Axial2 120 XL, and the Salomon STH 12 OS. Pricepoint for the Rossi was too good to pass up, and they (and Look) come with an excellent reputation. Was not disappointed at all! Skis released only twice (6.5 DIN) on my recent trip to Stowe/Killington, and one was when I went down on an ice patch I hit on moguls! Both times, I was glad they released. The Rossis felt very sturdy, and I was very happy with the purchase.

My one complaint would be that they have a rather difficult release. I have composite polls, and many times would notice the poll sligthly bending with the pressure I was placing on the heel, before the binding would shift and release.

Bought two sets of these for use with some rocker skis this season. Installation was straightforward, four screws each hold the toe and the heel. Used them almost immediately on a holiday ski trip to Jay in conditions ranging from icy-scratchy to new powder. All in all, pleased with the performance and operation of these bindings.

Good binding, but a bit heavy.

This looks like a solid binding and the techs did not relay any problems with installation or release testing. They are heavy in the heal piece and it is rather large. I would say either change the design in the rear or use a lighter material.

Rossi bindings are the only ones I trust year in and year out for skiing safety, peace of mind, positive connection to boot and ski, durability, and overall fun. I would not consider any other binding.

For me, it was a toss up between these and the Marker Griffons... Griffons are lighter, but the price was right for these 120s. Work well with my Prophet 98s.
Wish they had the Pivot still with a 12 DIN, as even the 14 DIN is just overkill for lighter weight skiers like me...probably overkill for >95% of the skiing population for that matter...
