Bought these to mount on LINE Sir Francis Bacon Shorty 155's for my thirteen year old son who weighs about 100 pounds. He's a solid intermediate, and I was trying to put together a ski that would be really lightweight for him, yet wide enough to float him on Cascade Concrete, which we've seen a lot this winter.

The binding is very lightweight, which is good, making it a good solution for building a lightweight ski. It performs well on the slopes, releasing when it ought to, staying on when it should not. The only downsides I have noticed so far are:
(a) the binding is definitely sensitive to minimal snow on the bottom of his boots, so getting them on can be challenging when snow is fresh and sticky. Not impossible to get back into, but a bit more sensitive than the average binding. If you're mounting them for a light adult, this isn't an issue, but for a kid who isn't 100% independent yet, it can be a hassle to help him get into his skis after lunch.

(b) my boy needs to gain some weight. I'm confident that he's skiing at the right release setting, with the bindings adjusted properly, but even when his boots are perfectly clean he has to stomp pretty hard to get the heel to click in. Hopefully this is just a first-impression, and he'll figure it out, but so far I've generally had to help him with at least one foot each time he puts his skis on.

Returned these for replacement. EVO was great about helping with the return/replacement.

Comments about Marker The Squire Ski Bindings (110mm Brakes) 2012:

Great bindings, very sturdy. If you happen to get a tiny bit of air, they won't release on the landing.(Important!) I gave them 4 stars, only because you really have to have all the snow off your boots to get back in them, and you have to stomp down hard to make sure you are fully locked in.
Some places that can be tricky.

I really like these bindings. I read reviews about how difficult it was to step into them and was hesitant to buy them. Every review said they still liked them though. I bought these and got exactly what I expected. They are great solid bindings but they are hard to step into. I would recommend these bindings.

Comments about Marker The Squire Ski Bindings (110mm Brakes) 2012:

I have been very pleased with the quality of the Marker Royal Family line of binding. The have really shaken the stigma of "Less than superb Marker" bindings. I originally bought the Marker Barons with the intent of backcountry skiing with them.

After a few years I realized I rarely used them for touring because of the weight and discomfort of not using them with a real AT boot. It seemed I was always opting for my splitboard because the setup was much lighter and easier to tour in. I decided I would get a lightweight downhill binding for my resort skiing. The Squire was it. It is an excellent lightweight alternative to the Jester or Griffon. I imagine you'd want the burlier binding if you are into hucking 40 foot cliffs and stuff, but if you are ok with a lower DIN ceiling and keeping the hucking under 5-10 feet or so then these are a great option. They driving my powder stick well.

This is a solid and economical choice when you require a wide brake. Have only skied it about a dozen times so hard to make a judgement on its durability. Certainly feels light under foot.

I read other comments that these bindings were difficult to step into, but that was not at all my experience. Sure, if your boots are covered in snow it would be tough, but then you're sacrificing the integrity of the boot/binding connection anyway.

These bindings are solidly built, lightweight, and I thought the entry and release were great. Plus they look pretty cool. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Comments about Marker The Squire Ski Bindings (110mm Brakes) 2012:

I have only been riding these bindings for a couple weeks, but they feel solid! they do take a bit of muscle to get in and out, but i'd rather have them a little tough to get on that popping off all the time.

Binding mounted and though initially seemed ok, it was very difficult to click in. Unless the heel of the boot was EXACTLY centered in the binding, it would often fail to lock in properly.
Returned these for replacement. EVO was great about helping with the return/replacement.

These were a great buy. I like everything about them, except that they require a firm stomp to engage the heel.
