The Twin cam is not just a metal heel piece. What the twin cam allows you to do is remove 60% of resistance when putting your foot in(you must hold down the release when you are stepping in) it is great for powder when your ski comes off because you can easily step back into your binding.

From past experiences with marker bindings i know that the clear plastic on the back will brake in cold weather and remove it self from the binding.

These are mounted on Line Prophet 90's (an all mtn ski) and have performed admirably in all conditions. Can't ask for much more from an intermediate binding that won't pop out in the deep stuff and holds it's own on the fast stuff

I think these bindings are a great purchase. If you are an extreme park guy, maybe they aren't good for you... but for any good skier who wants to have a great all around binding, these will work fine.
