Product Info

The Marker Griffon Ski Bindings are our top selling performance binding year after year. The reasons are obvious - excellent energy transmission, light weight compared to other bindings in its class, and solid durability have made the Griffon a fan favorite that finds its way onto more freeride skis than any other 12 to 14 DIN clamp. Marker s gliding AFD (anti-friction device) ensures consistent release with all types of ISO 5355 alpine soles and is less dependent on cleanliness or condition than stationary AFD's. The Inter Pivot Heel is time tested and offers excellent vertical elasticity as well as reliable release when you really need it. Step into the Griffon this season and find your own sweet spot.

Product Details

Toe Piece

AFD Gliding PlateAll Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFT is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring.

Triple Pivot Elite Toe PieceWith a horizontally oriented spring, it provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry.

Heel Piece

Inter Pivot HeelThis industry-leading construction delivers superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design creates optimum power transmission.

Ski Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

I am currently an Assistant Store Manager for a resort Rental shop, and have seen these guys in action in a variety of capacities, and currently I use the Griffon as a free ride binding, most recently and vigorously on the High Alpine bowls and Hike-to terrain of Breckenridge, and the various back bowls of Vail. Personally I am an aggressive 3+ skier with a preference for both high alpine and steep tree lines. That being said, the Marker Griffon, is a most excellent binding for any and all conditions where direct power transmission to the sidewalls of skis is needed, and a little bit of forgiveness is required for the steeper lines and rougher turns you find in both mogul and tree lines. The Griffon is an excellent choice when it comes to all mountain free ride because it delivers excellent control with a level of elasticity that means a little more forgiveness than say the Marker Jester or Salomon Warden. The highlight of this binding is probably the regularity and consistency with which it releases. When you want it to hold, it holds. When you need it to release, it releases. All in all an excellent binding for all mountain skiing. If you need or want something that delivers more edge hold, or more rigid control, try the Marker Jester, or the Salomon Warden.

These are solid, well made bindings that don't pre-release and seem to provide a good boot ski interface. However, getting into these bindings in deep snow is a real problem. Stepping down into the heel takes a lot of force - which is difficult in soft snow. Snow also builds up in the toe piece, making it even harder to step in. I used these bindings on a heli-ski trip and had a lot of difficulty getting into them each time we got dropped off in deep snow. I am swapping them out for my trusty Salomons next year. If you don't ever expect to have to put them on in deep snow, no worries. But if you do, beware.

Comments about Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2016:

The structure and way these things work is confidence inspiring. My previous bindings, Tyrolia Mojos, got weak and sloppy after a few years. I had to lean my boot almost 10 degrees before they would move the ski! Not precise or powerful. Lots of wasted effort and wondering when or if the edges will hook up. Why have great skis if you are not connected well to them? These Griffons are tight and well designed to apply solid leverage that wider skis need. Loving them!

Comments about Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2016:

I have a 3 year old pair on Volkl Mantras and this new set on 4frnt Devastators and love them. The low profile of the mounting point gets my feet as close to the snow (and often ice) as possible which gives me greater control and stability.

For reference I ski these on 191 and 194 skis and I am 6-8 about 215 lbs. I would recommend these bindings to anyone. The skis I have them mounted on are also pretty solid.

Install was straight forward with no surprises. After the first few days in the park, for the 13/14 season, it's safe to say these bindings will stand up to a beating. Easy to step into, and haven't experienced a pre-release even on buttery takeoffs.

Comments about Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2016:

The Marker griffons were a fantastic investment and so affordable for the quality they are listed at, I have used jester demo bindings in the past and marker has really outdone themselves on ski bindings. The lightweight addition to these bindings is great and I know the adjustments won't be to tricky if I need one on the mountain. Really going to enjoy these once the snow starts falling and for what we lack in snow this season I'll probably make up in ski bindings. Thanks again for the fast delivery and expedited service, I will definitely recommend this pair of bindings to any level skier I might stumble across on the mountain so that they can experience the easy maneuverability and snug feeling when they step in these.

Got these mounted on my Gotama's and so far so good. I've only skied on them a couple of times so I can't give a lengthy review but I'm happy with them. They seem to be built well and are fairly light weight for the DIN setting. Although like one reviewer mentioned, they are slightly harder to step into than other bindings. Haven't skied them in deep powder so I can't comment on that but on the hard pack chowder I feel like I have great power transmission to my skis. They interface well.

Plastic on the front portion of the binding snapped off mid-run, causing me to crash (thankfully I was not seriously hurt). This was after only about 20 trips with these bindings. I would never purchase these again, given the price tag and cheap materials used.

Great binding and easy to install. I always thought Marker was a bad brand due to poor construction but this binding is great. One down side is the weight. Little heavier than most bindings I have used.

Marker provides a solid product as always. The Griffon gives you a great stance and power transition to the ski with a DIN range to cover most any intermediate to expert skier. Been using these for several years now without fail. This is my third set with this pair mounted to RMU Apostle 105's. Never had an issue whatsoever. Buy them and spend time thinking about other things since you wont have to worry about your bindings.

Great binding. These allowed me to have one ski boot for alpine and AT skiing. I was sick and tired of carrying around 2 boots, and this was my solution.

Great bindings; fit my new High Society FX's (185's) perfectly. Got a chance to ride in all conditions, including powder, and they definitely performed. I realize it is more a matter of tuning and ability but despite a few spills they held in just as I would want them too (no yard sales). They were also not particularly tough to click into after knocking the requisite amount of snow off the boots. Great Bindings!

I Mounted these bindings on some K2 Sidestash skis, these bindings are good and solid as always! I have been using Marker bindings for years, so I just keep on going with them as they have never let me down! Skiied so tough conditions on the summit of Mt Bachelor, and had no problems!

So far so good, these were recommended by the Evo employee at the store while I was getting my boots fitted. Now that I have them I notice how common they are. I am a sheep and I just do what everyone else is doing. It works well for me.

This is a pretty solid binding for all-mountain/free style skiing. It works well with the slightly wider skis I have, and allows for easy turning and pivoting.
