Product Details

Toe

Triple Pivot Elite ToeWith a horizontally oriented spring, it provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry.

Integrated Gliding AFDGliding Anti-Friction Device (AFD) provides consistent lateral release with rockered and lugged AT boot soles

Heel

Inter Pivot HeelIndustry-leading construction delivers superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design creates optimum power transmission.

EPS SystemDual-screw brake pad

Tour Mode

Dual climbing levels of 7˚ and 13˚ can be adjusted with ski poles

Super secure lock mechanism lever is located under the boot; touring position slides boot 4 cm rearward for ease in kick turning

Hike MechanismMarker introduced the concept of passive safety, and the Duke Continues in that tradition. With the lever secured under the boot, you can be sure your binding cannot switch back into touring mode – that‘s the safest way to ski the big stuff! In addition, when the skier goes into touring mode, the entire interface moves back 4cm for better balance while climbing and easier kick turns.

Additional Features

Extended Power Frame and Power Width Design: provides unbelievable power transmission for wider skis

Climbing AidOffers positions at 7 degrees and 13 degrees that can easily be accessed with the ski pole.

Switching the lever to touring mode moves the whole binding 40 mm back, allowing a more comfortable walking position and keeping the ski balanced for kick turns and steep terrain.

Magnesium components for lightness without sacrificing strength

Accomodates both alpine and AT boot soles

Boot Sole Length: 265-325mm

Ski Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Extended Power Frame is designed for skis 89mm and wider.

Comments about Marker Duke EPF Small Ski Bindings 2014:

The Duke, being the most trusted of the burly touring bindings on the market, has really come into its own over the years. The latest modle is burlier, 28% wider (much better for fat skis), sits closer to the ski and is even lighter weight than beofre. I trust this binding up against pretty much any line, cliff or air I drop in on in the backcountry.

Another feature that has been improved and is now much easier to use, is the height adjustmet settings when in walk mode. It just takes a quick touch with your pole to move between the desired heights.

The only frustration is getting it to lock back down into ski mode if the binding has a bunch of snow frozen to it.

Comments about Marker Duke EPF Small Ski Bindings 2014:

Put them to the test right out of the gate with a week long backcountry trip. As I was expecting they lived up to the marker name and performed great. They are a bit heavier of a model I think compared to some of its counter parts but thats about it. Snow didn't build up in areas that most bindings do and I dind't have a problem changing from hike to downhill mode.

All in all, amazing buy and the price was the best I found even beat most local stores.

              Service and delivery comments:

Comments about Marker Duke EPF Small Ski Bindings 2014:

These bindings are sturdy and strong. The downside of this is their weight. They are HEAVY. However, they are a great binding for resorts and for touring. I would recommend these bindings to everyone, those with lighter skis would like these better for touring. Whether you are just staying in bounds or venturing out. these are an all around awesome binding. I can't give a full review yet because I haven't ridden them enough.

Awesome bindings that switch between downhill and touring mode using the levers located under your boots; which stops those ugly crashes when older bindings switch unexpectedly. Does everything that was promised and really delivers.

The Duke is a beast of a touring binding, and that doesn't mean it's heavy, it's just heavy duty. I did a lot of freeriding on these last season, hitting jumps and cliffs and skiing really hard on them in the backcountry, and they are incredibly solid. They are super easy to use and very lightweight for a touring binding. I love these things, they get me where I need to go and switch back and forth from touring to skiing mode very quickly and easily. There are a lot of bindings that mimic the Duke coming out every year, and I think that's a testament to their impeccable design. But you just can't beat the Duke.

The new duke rocked. I skied this on the Volkl Shiro after skiing the same ski with a Jester. The binding made the ski more stable and smooth able to mash across groomers and broken junk and crud without getting deflected. The binding also felt lower to the ski than previous model Dukes because the new wider chassis distributed the pressure out to the edges better. I didn't get to use te touring function do can't comment on that but it is redesigned solid competitor in the growing freeride AT binding category.
