These bindings drive skis better than Ricky Bobby does a cougar filled Camaro. I've got them mounted on a 110mm width ski and they handle like a dream. Super bomber binding that will handle anything you throw at 'em. I opted for the Barons over the Duke's to save a few grams of weight, but its really not that much of a difference. Plus, I have no need for the 16 DIN that comes with the Dukes. Unless you're a pro huckin' captain insano cliffs, you probably don't either.

For longer backcountry tours I rock my Fritschi Freeride's since they're much lighter, but for anything else in/out of bounds the Barons get the job done. Its nice to have a solid downhill binding that has the capability of touring if needed. My only beef is that the heel riser seems like it could be bigger to help on those steeper climbs. Other than that I love 'em.

I had a really hard time finding AT bindings for my new Armada JJs. The JJ is 115 underfoot, and most AT bindings aren't wide enough and don't come with a standard or powder brake wide enough. I debated on which amongst the few that are available and settled on these. These bindings are heavy! The skis are extremely light and although they are wide, I have a concern that the bindings are going to change the responsiveness of the skis due to the weight and burliness. However, I do like the fact that they are adjustable within the same drilling so that I can lend these skis to my friends. I also really like the aesthetics of these bindings and that they can accomodate AT or alpine boots.

Great AT binding for on off piste. Pretty light and solid for 12 din. Can't go wrong as Marker once again makes a solid, high perfomance binding.

Comments about Marker Baron 12 (110Mm Brake) Small Ski Bindings 2010:

I bought these for my soon to be wife and she loves them. The goal was to get her bindings that she could do some 2-3 hour hiking in and still feel like she had normal bindings on the way down. She feels that she can't tell a difference between these and regular alpine bindings which is exactly what we were looking for! I have seen other reviews talking about the bindings popping off randomly and she hasn't had that happen yet she weighs about 130 with all her gear.

I myself have the Dukes and love them as well but I weigh over 220 with all my gear and thought that the heavier construction would help.

Comments about Marker Baron 12 (110Mm Brake) Small Ski Bindings 2010:

Downhill performance is stellar. These bindings feel just like an alpine setup inbounds. I teach in them and ride the resort twice a week with no issues. Good, solid control and they don't seem to affect ski flex or feel. I like the idea of the tour/ski mode lock being secured by the ski boot. More than enough DIN for most, including myself. Big, heavy bomber types (220+lbs dropping cliffs) might want the Dukes for the increased strength more than the DIN. I have yet to tour with them, but I know they're going to be better than Alpine Trekkers and Salomon Z12Tis. Spring is just around the corner, I can't wait to try these out on the up.

So far a great choice for my first AT bindings. Have more time on them at the resort than in the backcountry at this point (that's gonna change). Basically feels like an alpine binding in all the good ways. Solid product.
