This wooly mammoth of a binding gives you a 3mm shock absorbing platform so you can go crazy big without actually going crazy because of too high of a DIN setting. Dial down those moves you’ve been working on in minutes with these impact-friendly gods of the binding world.
Recommended Use
The perfect bindings for All-mountain, freestyle, and freeride skiing
Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15mm wider.
Construction
PX heel features angled lateral arms that apply greater pressure to the edge of the ski creating more power directly from the skier to the ski
25mm of elastic travel, the longest travel of any binding on the market, preventing unwanted pre-releasing so that your ski will stay on when you want it to
Full Drive Toe: Four points of contact on the boot for maximum power transmission, 180 degree multi-directional release capabilities which aid in release, High elastic travel for vertical and lateral movements help to eliminate inadvertent release and offer shock absorption, AFD reduces friction in a release

Comments about Look PX 12 Ski Bindings (80mm Brakes) 2011:

The exit feature requires a great deal of pressure directly on the adjustment set screw of the heel binding. Not a good design as it will eventually wear out the screw head. Hope you have a strong arm and a strong set of poles.

Comments about Look PX 12 Ski Bindings (80mm Brakes) 2011:

I bought 2 pair of these Look PX12 bindings to be mounted on 2 pair of K2 Ranger skis for my kids (115lbs & 150lbs). What can I say about Look, they have ben around forever and have an excellent reputation. These PX12's use more metal in their construction than many bindings today. I have no doubt they will last a long time.

One bit of warning. Both my kids are Type I skiers (beginners). The DIN range on this binding is 3.5 - 12.0. No problem for my 150lb beginner. But my 115lb son is sort of right on the fence between a youth binding and an adult binding. The DIN calculation indicates a 3.5 setting for him.

The ski shop warned me that due to normal manufacturing variances, that a binding may not test at a 3.5 DIN after they mount it. I told them to go ahead and mount the bindings. They tested out perfectly at 3.5 DIN in the release check even though that's the lowest end of the PX12's range. That sort of confirms my faith in the quality of the Look brand.

These bindings have a nice strong heel with plenty of forward pressure. The elastic travel in the toe is no gimmick. They really will allow plenty of movement before they finally release.

Comments about Look PX 12 Ski Bindings (80mm Brakes) 2011:

These are good bindings for the price...My only complaint is that they are tough getting out of them...My old bindings I could easily step on them with one ski and get right out but these are pretty tight...may not be a bad thing so I would definitely repurchse

Comments about Look PX 12 Ski Bindings (80mm Brakes) 2011:

I have been skiing on salomon bindings for the last 8 years. I decided to branch out and try a new company. The Look PX 12 is an excellent binding for aggressive downhill skiing. I rode them up on a pow day and they never pre-released. On groomers their response was unsurpassed allowing me to carve like a 70mm race ski on 90mm skis. I would recommend them to any skier wanting a cool looking binding with the performance to go along with it. Plus the you cannot beat the price for the quality.
