      My wife and I have some Salomon softshells that we use the nikwax for. It provides better breathabilty for the jacket and adds waterproofing to the jacket. If you are going to put down a couple hundred dollars for a softshell make sure you protect it!

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
