The fully redesigned Rossignol Super 7 Skis are powder tools of the highest caliber. This ski is completely reshaped for 2014. Gone is the "pintail" shape that has become synonymous with the S7 line of skis. A more mellow 10 cm difference between tip and tail makes the outstanding new Super 7 a more versatile ski, significantly improving hard snow performance while maintaining a 116 mm waist for epic powder float. Along with the new Air Tip technology and a lighter, ultra durable Paulownia wood core, the Rossignol Super 7 Skis are an incredibly balanced and powerful powder ski.
Rocker Type
Powder Turn Rocker - Newly redesigned to deliver even more versatility and superior flotation. A longer, more progressively rockered tip minimizes "tip flap" in variable snow and hardpack while the tapered, more powerful tail drops into soft snow, enhancing flotation and providing effortless steering with instant speed control. Traditional camber underfoot delivers power, energy and edge grip for groomed snow performance.

Sidecut
Centered Sidecut - The sidecut features a unique tapering of tip and tail with a short sidecut directly underfoot. A deep radius gives edge grip and power underfoot while a short length of sidecut allows easy steering and playfulness.
Shape
Air Tip - An all-new, patented air-honeycomb design reduces the weight and dramatically reduces the swing weight of the ski by nearly 30%. This significantly enhances maneuverability, giving the ski an ultra-light feel. The tip is reinforced with ABS for durability and enhanced torsional rigidity.
Core
Light Core - All-new ultra-lightweight Paulownia wood core with Race Department Diago Fiber laminate combines with the Air Tip to reduce overall ski weight by 20%, enhancing maneuverability and touring capabilities, with no compromise in downhill performance.
Laminates
Free V.A.S. - Visco elastomer material helps to smooth the rocker/camber transition, reducing "tip flap" and increasing stability, and maintaining control and snow contact in variable conditions.
Sandwich Laminate - Wood cores with high tech laminates provide the ultimate in stability, power and durability.
Additional Features
Compatible with 7 Series Climbing Skins - Trim to Fit
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Big Mountain, Powder
    Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Medium
    Medium
17-22 m radius is best for all-mountain and park & pipe.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.

The most trusted binding in alpine skiing is back. Rossignol FKS 140 Ski Bindings feature bombproof construction and deliver better retention and prevention of pre-release than any binding on the market. FKS bindings feature 7-points of boot contact giving superior control, response and snow feel. Skiers have less concern with pre-release due to the longest elastic travel on the market. The heelpiece rotates with the boot directly under the tibia to give more consistent, reliable and manageable release. The Dual Action toepiece has 180 degree multi-directional release with high vertical and lateral elastic travel to provide shock absorption, further reducing inadvertent release. Using the shortest mounting zone available, the FKS allows deeper, rounder, more consistent ski flexing, turning, floating and smearing. The Rossignol FKS 140 L Ski Bindings are available in multiple brake sizes to fit your needs and provide the most reliable, durable and performance-oriented construction available for aggressive freeskiers.
