Everyone knows a Swiss-army knife can accomplish any task you put in front of it. The Never Summer Proto CT Snowboard is the same way. With Carbonium Laminate Technology, the Proto CT gives you all the pop you need, while the Vario Power Grip gives you superb edge hold on the hardest of snow. If you want to be a true mountain master this year, check out the Never Summer Proto CT.
Rocker Type
R.C. - The original Rocker & Camber construction blends a custom rocker profile with separate camber areas at each end of the board, providing unmatched power and snap out of turns. This also provides better board tracking for high speed stability and massive ollies.
Bi-Directional Rocker/Camber Profile - This is designed to perform well riding switch while not inhibiting forward performance. This is accomplished by extending the camber slightly in the tip, increasing pressure over this area. To compensate for this additional pressure, the rocker has been shifted slightly toward the tail adding pop and a more forgiving ride.
Flex
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - Perfect for all mountain riding
Sidecut
Vario Power Grip - Multi-radius sidecut adds increased edgehold precisely where it's needed most, from 2 inches outside of each binding and inward toward the center of the board, providing added control and response in any conditions (Sidecut Radius numbers are an average).
Core
NS Superlight Wood Core - A blend of extremely light wood with durable hardwood for unmatched strength to weight ratio
Laminates
Carbonium Laminate Technology - More carbon equals more power and performance. Combining an advanced top and base carbon matrix to maximize torsional response and strength where it's needed most results in a lightweight yet powerful design.
Bi-Lite Fiberglass - Combining the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix, this delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass - Pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate with added elastomer stringers between the 0 degree and 90 degree glass fibers run the length of the effective edge. This produces a stronger bond between the individual glass laminates, giving the board unmatched strength, edge hold and performance.
EDS Damping System - Delivering increased edgehold and high speed stability without compromising freestyle performance.
Sidewalls
Sintered P-Tex Sidewall - Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, the Sintered P-Tex Sidewall maintains it's integrity at any temperature.
Base
Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base - Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base with just the right amount of graphite to form the fastest base Never Summer has ever used.
Edges
Fully Wrapped Metal Edge - Provides unmatched carving ability and edge grip
Topsheet
Carbonium Topsheet - A very durable, scratch and chip resistant material with a high tech carbon fiber-like visual - this textured material also provides more grip than a gloss topsheet, working as a built-in stomp pad.
Binding Compatibility
Never Summer snowboards offer 2x4 insert patterns.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Some chief components include: the triple zone injected EVA bushings for superlative dampening, contact pro Dupont™ Sytel® ST highbacks for maintaining flexibility and stability in all conditions, and CNC machined heelcups that drastically reduce the overall weight. Can't wait to get down and thrash on these bossy bindings? Neither can we.

Additional Features
Grade 8.8 Hardware - The most commonly used hardware is made from "mild steel" that has a property class of only 4.6. Considering how much stress a binding goes through, Union uses only the highest-strength steel, with a property class of 8.8.
CNC Machined Heelcups - The CNC process removes material to reduce overall weight while maintaining strength.

    An All Around Great

Comments about Never Summer Proto CT Snowboard 2013:

The Proto was a huge hit last year, and this year its just as good, if not better. If you're looking for a one board quiver, do anything from big mountain to park, look no further. Mid flex, held an edge like a board should, there was nowhere on the mountain I could take this board and not feel comfortable one. Believe the hype that is Never Summer, the Proto is their shining example.

Comments about Never Summer Proto CT Snowboard 2013:

I love this board. I'm not like lots of my peers who need to figure out which board to use for which conditions. This thing does it all, and it does it all very good! Yeah if it's an astounding powder day and you're going to do that all day, I'm sure you can find a better board. Yeah if it's slushy and you're only going to hit the park all day, you can find a better board. But if you want to be able to do both and not wonder which board to take out, this one does the job extremely well.

Great stability when riding fast and also on flats. Brilliantly easy to maneuver. Can't say enough about this board! Haven't owned a Never Summer before buying this board, but I can't say enough! Definitely a board to consider if you're looking for pop, speed, stability, and maneuverability.

Those of you who have ridden NS know what it's all about. I feel sorry for those of you who have not tried a NS. And now, here is the KSoFM of all boards! This stick is for the middle 90% of all riding anywhere at anytime. The only thing this baby won't do is fix you a latte in the morning. Beware: a lot of people will stop and asks "is that a CT?" if you are in CO. Sometimes I feel like I am in a commercial I love this board so much.

Super sick ride. Good for all mountain riders who like to "park" it up naturally...... Or for heavy hitting freestylers who ride big. Definitely not a beginner riders board.
