The NEW K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard is the amped up, fuel injected version of K2’s Turbo Dream. The Ultra Dream Snowboard is a backcountry, tranny killer, go anywhere, beast of a board equipped with K2’s All-Terrain Rocker with Tweekend™ for a more stable platform and BC Shaping that provides more float and incredible stomped landings. If your in dire need of a snowboard that's packin' a mass load of technology, go stomp around on the K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard.
Rocker Type
All Terrain Rocker ™ - Allows for effortless turns on hardpack but also provides ample float in softer snow and crud. A setback stance and medium rise through the tip and a lower rise in the tail defines this multi-purpose freerider.
NEW Tweekend™ - Tweaks the tip and tail of K2 boards by extending the rocker curvature all the way out to the ends, giving you more surface area to press, float and land on.
Shape
BC Shaping - A new approach to powder and backcountry boards, bringing more stability and ways to draw fresh lines with a longer tip, compact sidecut, and tail that drops in pow without sacrificing switch rideability. Nimble enough to pivot through trees, but strong enough to land cliffs.
Hybritaper™ - Takes the Hybritech™ Construction, and tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. They blend the tips from a cap into a think sandwich, removing material where you don't need it.
Construction
Carbon Web™ II is designed specifically to enhance Baseline technology and brings the pop of carbon closer to your bindings for more energy in all your riding.
Triax/ICG 20 - Top triaxial glass laminate with diagonal layers that stiffens the board torsionally. Giving improved edge hold and increased stability for those off-axis landings. Bottom ICG 20 glass integrates carbon into the fiberglass, reducing overall weight and creating a super smooth release of power while increasing pop and liveliness.
Hybritech™ Construction - The most efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. Featuring sidewall along the running surface that flows into the nose and tail providing low swing-weight, optimized turn initiation, and durability.
Sidecut
Backside
Hyper Progressive Sidecut - A number of different radius' are blended together flawlessly from mellow in the tips, to more aggressive in the center. The result is a super predictable feel that never hooks. Responsive at high speeds and smooth enough to butter your way from peak to peak.
Core
WH4 - With a greater percentage of K2's Honeykomb technology that goes into the WH3 core, it's engineered to maintain durability at minimal weight.
NEW Bambooyah™ Blend - A skate-derived horizontal bamboo laminate that adds incredible strength and stands up to brutal beatings.
Base
Ø Sintered - An ultra thin, lightweight, static eliminating base. Highest quality sintered available anywhere.
Additional Features
Carbon Web™ II - Designed specifically to enhance K2's Baseline technology and brings the pop and snap of carbon closer to your bindings for max ollies and control in every situation.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freeride, Powder
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Polyurethane (PU), Wood
  • Snowboard Awards: Snowboard Magazine Platinum Pick

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

Waiting to drop in on this guy, I understood how that Titanic captain felt before he ran into that iceberg - untouchable. The difference being, I never sank or ended a brooding love triangle in tragedy. Quite the opposite actually, this was a sick powder board that seemed like it would hardly ever have trouble sinking. Admittingly, this wasn't an epic pow day, but found a few small stashes off the beaten path that this board cut right through. It was definitely of the stiffer variety, so wasn't as buttery as you might expect from other powder sticks, but for the guy who likes to go quick, jet down through the deep stuff this would be an awesome time, and worked on the groomers as well.

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

This board is super Fun! The unique shape of the nose and tail will allow for easier/longer presses, better float and more surface area for speed and landings. Super fun in groomers, park and off piste. Board is super light with carbon stringers through out the core. You will be in an ultra dream until that first face shot wakes you up!

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

This board was perfect for the Pacific Northwest! Had a blast taking on steep pow runs, through trees, it even handled pretty dang well on groomers. Definitely a little softer than most big mountain boards, but it made it more versatile over different terrains, which was great for someone who likes to ride the whole mountain.

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

This board was super fun to ride. It was a great blend of playful and stable. The tweakends are a great new technology and I would recommend any board that has them. The only reason I gave this board a 4 instead of a 5 is because the snow conditions that I tested it on didn't allow me to utilize all the aspects that this board had to offer. I have a feeling that if it had been a pow day I would've given it a perfect score!

    K2 Ultra Dream

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

The name says it all... Ultra Dream. I loved this board, it might have been my favorite. It has K2 all terrain rocker, which is flat between your feet but tip and tail have rocker from the front/back foot out. I liked how they made the board ride/turn like a shorter board by bringing the contacts point in. This gives the board a smaller board feel but the float of a big board. This board would be good for anybody trying to destroy powder in those hard to get places... with big mountain freestyle calling its name. I want one

Comments about K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard 2013:

I took this board out for a demo at Mission Ridge which isn't really known for their huge amounts of pow. It was pretty much on all hard pack groomers but the board handled really well. I definitely want to get on this next year in some deeper snow. It was really stable and I felt like it would hold up well all over the mountain.

I got to demo this board last year and...wow!
It was so much fun, and so versatile that no matter where on the mountain I took it I had a blast!
The unique shape of this board took a little getting used to (visually) but after riding it I totally get what K2 was doing with the design!
I would definitely recommend this board for anyone who wants a board that can be playful anywhere on the mountain, but will also destroy deep snow on those days that you skip work for!
