The all-mountain freestyle destroyer known as the K2 Fastplant Snowboard is back, and hungrier than ever. Upgraded for 2013, K2 threw in Tweekend™ shaping for maximum stability at the limit. The Fastplant also features a Bambooyah™ core for indestructability, and is loaded with Ollie Bar™ for maximum pop. Ready to rage at the park, pipe or all over the mountain.
Rocker Type
Jib Rocker® - (20% Rocker / 80% Flat) A versatile twin Rocker built to dominate the park. Just enough rise in the tip and tail to create a loose, buttery feel on all types of terrain. Contact points stay well off the snow until engaged – eliminating edge hook while maintaining fun pop.
Flex
Perfect forgiving flex for the all-mountain ripper who wants to perform freestyle tricks on a bigger stage.
Shape
Hybritaper™ - Takes the Hybritech Construction and tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. K2 blends the tips from a cap into a thin sandwich removing material where you don’t need it.
Hyper Progressive - An infinite number of different radius are blended together flawlessly from mellow in the tips, to more aggressive in the center. The result is a super predictable feel that never hooks. Responsive at high speeds and smooth enough to butter your way from the peak to park.
Tweekend™ - Tweaks the tip and tail of K2 boards by extending the rocker curvature all the way out to the ends, giving you more surface area to press, float and land on.
Core
NEW Bambooyah™ Blend - A skate-derived horizontal bamboo laminate that adds incredible strength and stands up to brutal beatings.
WH4 - With a greater percentage of K2's Honeykomb technology that goes into the WH3 core, it's engineered to maintain durability at minimal weight.
Laminates
Triaxial/ICG 20 - A glass laminate with diagonal layers that stiffens the board torsionally. Giving you improved edge hold and increased stability for those off-axis landings.
Base
1˚ Bevel
4000 Sintered - Fastest natural base material available, exceptionally durable, and absorbs deeper and retains wax longer.
Additional Features
Carbon Web™ I - Designed specifically to enhance K2's Baseline technology and brings the pop and snap of carbon closer to your bindings for max ollies and control in every situation.
Ollie-Bar - Built in place in a pre-loaded, cambered shape it solves the concern that rocker board don’t have the pop camber board have.Made with a secret layup of carbon, Kevlar and urethane layers, the ollie bar is positioned in the center of the board between the binding inserts. Strong ollies and pressing power doesn’t come from the tail alone. The backbone center section is actually more critical for smooth even pressure.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Polyurethane (PU), Wood
  • Warranty: 1 year (5 years against core breakage)

K2 Fastplant 154

Comments about K2 Fastplant Snowboard 2013:

This board blends some of my favorite technology that K2 has to offer in one, do-it-all package. The Jib Rocker base makes this board board super playful without sacrificing it's ability to rip at high speeds. The bamboo core and added Ollie Bar make this board light and snappy as well. This board is ideal for any all-mountain, freestyle rider looking for a light, responsive board that holds up on and off piste.
