Dan Brisse is one of the most versatile snowboarders on the planet. Having said that, he demands quite the arsenal of boards to be able to keep up with his crazy backcountry style, park madness and groomer slaying ability. This year the CAPiTA DBX Snowboard offers a wide array of options, from park to powder. There's a reverse camber 151 for jibbing, a zero camber 154 for the terrain-park and cruising resorts, and a hybrid camber 157 for powder jumps and backcountry days. Pick your poison, but pick it wisely; because honestly, these boards vary quite a bit although they all reside under the same name.
Flat Kick Technology – With Flat Kick design technology CAPiTA has tightened the profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height. This is a key area that influences the tempo and feel of turn initiation. With traditional larger tip and tail arcs, the loaded camber contributes to a board's acceleration into a turn. On reverse camber boards the contact points are elevated, removing this camber contribution. As a result, the same traditional tip and tail radii would make the board feel sluggish. Specialized Flat Kick tip and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions.
DBX 151; Freestyle FK – Dual reverse camber FK freestyle shape. Flat based from outer insert to out insert provides stability at high speeds on groomed runs. Elevated contact points turn on a dime and float effortlessly while stomping in powder.
DBX 154; Zero Camber – Flat camber from contact point to contact point provides a slightly looser, easier to ride feel, without reducing the effective edge that results from full rocker shapes.
DBX 157; Freeride FK – This revolutionary all-mountain shape provides the best of both worlds. It has a raised camber platform through the inserts to retain high-speed edge hold through variable terrain, and elevated contact points to land and float in powder.
DBX 151; 5 Flex – 5, perfect for all-mountain riding.
DBX 154; 5 Flex – 5, perfect for all-mountain riding.
DBX 157; 7 Flex – 7, perfect for freestyle riding and all-mountain riding.
DBX 151; Radial – A radial sidecut is a single radius design that allows your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc. Centered stance.
DBX 154; Radial – A radial sidecut is a single radius design that allows your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc. Centered stance.
DBX 157; New Age Directional – CAPiTA's New Age Directional sidecut is a progressive sidecut which incorporates a reverse sidecut arc in the midsection of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc provides a point of contact to retain control throughout the turn. .5" Setback stance.
RFC sustainable Bamboo Dual Core – With Dan Brisse's riding style in mind, the RFC Sustainable Bamboo Dual core was designed to perform when it's all on the line. Ollie powder, strength, dampening, and reliability were terms emphasized in the design room. This poplar based core has been beefed up with bamboo stringers through the inserts as well as along the edges. This increases the energy throughout the board making it more responsive and powerful. Since bamboo is one of the strongest woods available, durability goes through the roof allowing you to go bigger, faster, and jib with confidence in even the sketchiest scenarios.
Custom Weave – The CUSTOM WEAVE configuration features a resin/glass application borrowed from the marine industry, which yields much stronger and rigid qualities allowing the board to have decreased wood core thickness. The main focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. The biaxial/triaxial fiberglass combination creates more response while increasing strength and durability.

Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base – Created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene and compressing them with heat and pressure.Translation, the "pores" of the board love wax and if properly maintained create an extremely fast, durable and consistent board.

Basalt Additives – Originating from solidified volcanic lava, basalt is an abundant resource long known for it's thermal properties, strength, and durability. Carefully oriented into the board, this natural material helps you increase power and pop while creating a damp, calm ride.

Dependability is something that a packed season rider knows all about. The Union Force Snowboard Bindings are something that you can depend on day after day without having to adjust, repair and won't have to worry about. Completely redesigned for 2014, this stallion of a binding cannot be broken, always running on lightweight durability and flex. The tough as nails Dupont™ Zytel® ST baseplate brings the Union Lifetime Warranty to the plate because well, frankly, it's never going to break - but if it does, Union has you covered. Every element in this binding is on lock down with max efficiency so you can charge around the mountain carefree. May the force be with you.
All-New Stage IV Base – Same lifetime warranty as always, on a lighter, lower-profile baseplate.
Dupont™ Zytel® ST – The highest-quality nylon is used on all Union baseplates to result in strength, safety and security.
Dual Density EVA Bushings – They dampen vibrations underfoot to promote a more comfortable ride and a smooth, even board flex with no dead sports. Each size comes with its own durometer for custom performance.
Multizone Force Highback – With a new design this highback brags next level heelside response and board control.
Shift-on-the-Fly Forward Lean – Quick and easy to use, adjust the forward lean with a simple flip of a knob then slide it to wherever you want and re-lock it. Easily done while waiting in those pesky lift lines.
Symmetric 3D Direct-Connect Strap System – Multi-Layer Tapered Strap Core evenly distributes pressure in a symmetrical package.
Multi-Layered Tapered Strap Core
Magnesium Buckles – The magnesium in the buckles is four times the strength of aluminum with only half the weight. Plus, it is easily recycled.
All-New Toe Buckle System – Multi-positional options with open Ultra Grip™ Design
All-New Toe Cup Design – Holds better to your boots for consistent control and also moves vertically for multiple boot-to-strap positions.
All-New Extruded 3D Aluminum Heelcups – This process removes material to reduce weight but maintains strength.
Universal Disks – Compatible with any traditional 4x4 mounting system and 3-hole board patterns. Channel Compatible Discs are available separately from Union to fit Burton snowboards with The Channel.
Grade 8.8 Hardware – The most commonly used hardware is made from "mild steel" that has a property class of only 4.6. Considering how much stress a binding goes through, Union uses only the highest-strength steel, with a property class of 8.8.
