Black Diamond's 3D Sandwich Construction - pre-preg fiberglass, ABS sidewalls and poplar wood core - offers the most geometric advantage for higher torsional loads. You can find this signature set-up in the Black Diamond Boundary 107 Skis, and when you take 'em for a spin the only fall you'll make will be to fall in love. With a versatile 107 mm waist, partial twin-tip rocker profile and Sidewall Damping System, these classically-inspired shred sticks make easy turns in soft snow and won't chatter your ears off in harder conditions.
160 cm – 296 mm Tip Rocker / 222 mm Semi-Rocker
168 cm – 310 mm Tip Rocker / 233 mm Semi-Rocker
176 cm – 325 mm Tip Rocker / 244 mm Semi-Rocker
184 cm – 340 mm Tip Rocker / 255 mm Semi-Rocker
192 cm – 255 mm Tip Rocker / 266 mm Semi-Rocker
Formula 1 Technology – F1 tech is used for skis larger than 95 mm underfoot. This technology requires three major ribs.
3D CNC Wood Core - Poplar – A good balance of pop (i.e., energy return) with a classic, smooth feel.
Pre-Preg Fiberglass – Black Diamond uses a clean process to control the exact amount of epoxy resin in each pre-impregnated ski and maximize the fiber's contribution to overall strength and stiffness, in turn allowing for reduced weight while retaining strength, precision and consistency.
Rubber – A damping agent for reducing chatter at speed.
8 mm ABS Sidewalls – All Black Diamond skis now feature ABS sidewall construction, resulting in lighter, higher performing skis.
Sidewall Damping System – A layer of rubber in the sidewalls of the ski, slightly behind the contact point, greatly reduces chatter and gives the dampness of a freeride ski to even lightweight backcountry construction.
P-Tex 4000 Base – High-speed sintered bases with a fine crosshatch, state-of-the-art stone-grind finish provide the best balance of durability, glide and ease of maintenance.
Power Edges – Thick edge for freeride durability.

If your image of Fritschi is a clunky but serviceable old-school frame binding with tons of lateral deflection, get ready for a jolt from the future - the Swiss haven't been sleeping through the tech revolution, they just haven't been talking much. The Fritschi Diamir Vipec 12 Ski Bindings are state-of-the-art, lightweight tech bindings with engineered elasticity at both the heel and toe and a release value range of 5 to 12. Unlike traditional tech bindings that release laterally at the heel, the Vipec toe has ample sliding movement at the toe to absorb shock but releases at a user-defined limit. The heel doesn't rotate but instead slides rearward in touring mode and has a small amount of built-in rearward elasticity to accommodate ski flex. With the heel in the rearward position for skinning, two climbing risers can be employed using your ski poles. For skiers who spend a good portion of their time touring and don't need a release value higher than 12, the Fritschi Vipec could well be your quiver-of-one binding choice of the future.
Diamir Vipec Toe – This completely new toepiece still uses traditional tech fittings, but has a sliding undercarriage that absorbs shock. Lateral release is adjustable at the toe and ranges from 5 to 12 RV.
Adjustable Toe Release – Safety Tech System features a defined front lateral release in both ski and walk mode for skiing and avalanche safety
Adjustable Toe Pins – Vipec toe pins come set to accommodate the vast majority of OEM tech toe fittings, but can be manually adjusted if needed.
Release Value 5 to 12
Available Color Clip High Inserts – Lightweight boots such as the Scarpa Alien, Alien 1.0, Dynafit TLT5 and TLT6 without ISO 9523 soles may require the installation of the Color Clip High inserts in the toe lever to prevent unwanted release with the boot in an extreme forward position (knee close to or touching the ski).
Diamir Vipec Heel – The Vipec heel is a completely new design that moves in the fore-aft axis to access touring mode rather than rotating the heel. The heel is set with no gap between the boot and the heelpiece, and the heel has spring loaded elasticity built in to accommodate the flexing of the ski.
Easy Switch heel and toe allow changes between ski and walk mode without stepping out of the binding
Three-level Heel Riser – Flat, mid and high levels can be adjusted on the move with a ski pole.
Integrated dynamic range in both heel and toe ensures predictable release
Brakes Included
Fritschi Diamir Vipec Traxion Ski Crampons Available Separately – These crampons feature a unique flip-up riser for increased crampon penetration while using the heel risers.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
