Just recieved this jacket:

Fit: I'm 5'11, 165, athletic build, and the medium is perfect. Definitely not form fitting. There is enough room for any layers I'll want, yet it is not overly baggy.

Construction: Obviously I haven't put the jacket through its paces, but it appears to be a well designed and constructed jacket. I have full confidence in the 3 layer goretex pro shell to be absolutely bombproof. Zippers and zipper pulls seem solid, stitching is reinforced in key areas, and I like the thumbloops and goggle wipe. The powder skirt has a four button closure and makes a good seal with my snow pants (waist 31"). When zipped all the way up, the collar comes up to the bottom of my nose and is lined with fleecy goodness. A whole lot of fleecy goodness.

Overall first impression: Psyched. For a retail price of, well, a lot, I expect this jacket to look good, fit perfectly, and perform exceptionally. It definitely meets my expectations on the first two fronts and I'm pretty confident on the third. There's a reason that every company's top of the line gear uses a 3 layer Goretex pro shell and it's not because it's cheap. That's all for now.

(4 stars because so far I've only worn it inside. Maybe 5 after a 100+ days of abuse. We'll see.)
