The 2014 Salomon Q-98 Skis are hard charging skis with serious all-mountain adventure capabilities. Semi-Sandwich construction, a full wood core and wider reinforced edges add durability, stability and versatility to a playful, directional ski for exploring the mountain front to back.
Utility Rocker – Salomon's most versatile rocker profile, excelling in all conditions and terrains, Utility Rocker offers optimal floatation, fluid terrain absorption and directional stability.
Gentle Rise Tail – A shorter, shallower rise to the tail rocker that increases edge contact and stability.
Carve Zone – The traditionally cambered section of twin rocker skis, where the sidecut is focused for more power, energy and edge grip.
Hook Free Taper – Allowing for easier turn initiation in soft and variable snow, this tip and tail shape slices through difficult snow without hanging up.
Full Wood Core – A wood core that runs from tip to tail offers optimum stability and powerful rebound, with maximum ski/snow contact and reduced vibration
Semi-Sandwich – Edge to edge construction allows liveliness with increased stability underfoot.
Wider Edges – Thicker edges for increased durability and improved shock resistance
Total Edge Reinforcement – A fiber reinforcement is laid directly on the edges, improving edge stiffness, durability and grip.
Honeycomb + ABS Frame – Lighter at the extremities for better floatation, less inertia for easier steering and more control, and increased dampening and shock resistance
Pulse Pad – This is an elastomer layer all along the edge and/or along the whole front part of the ski that provides shock absorption and anti-vibration on harder snow.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
