Armada's El Rey Skis are comin' in hot and ready to rip! The El Rey's stiffer flex profile and fiberglass torsion box allows you to get more aggressive on the steeps with bomber edgehold and a super high response level. This is combined with all-mountain versatility to make the El Rey the perfect ski for someone who is looking to take their park moves out of the park.
Positive Camber – Traditional camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge control.
Stiffer Flex – provides less flex and gives you a greater all mountain range.
Flex Pattern - Tip: 7 Waist: 8 Tail: 7.5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)
Fleet Core – Laminated wood core with 2 high density wood stringers, and with a slow sidewall taper to 45 degrees toward the tips and tails. This eases entry and exit into and out of turns for lighter riders.
Laminate Matrix – Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.
ABS Sidewall Construction – A full sidewall construction of two strips of ABS material lie directly alongside the core and over the ski’s edges, providing solid edge hold, core protection, and stability.
CAP Construction – This method wraps the wood core with composite fiberglass layers creating a torsion box. The base assembly is inserted into the mold, then the fiberglass wrapped core and top material are added. A variable slant between the base and topsheet creates a super-durable and light ski with a balanced flex.
S7 Base – Armada's toughest base is durable and low maintenance, with a speed additive for quickness.
2.5 Impact Edge – This edge has an oversized height and width, and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness, which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet.
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
