Normally the lighter a ski gets, the weaker it gets. With the Moment Jib Skis, that statement’s not even close to true. Each pair of Moment skis’ are built by hand, built light, and built to last. Just like its name, the Jib loves nothing more than to butter on its soft tip and tail. Don’t you worry though, because you still get a ton of pop from the carbon fiber stringers. The 2013 Moment Jibs are 3mm wider than last year’s, with a burlier 2.5mm edge, thicker base, and straighter sidecut.
Traditional Camber: for park, pipe, and frontside carving, traditional camber remains the classic choice. Its spring-loading effect maintains edge pressure when the ski is flexed into an arc, then releases that energy to launch you into the next turn.
Flex rating of 5 out of 10 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff)
Moment uses Aspen/Ash wood core on skis that need to be able to withstand a beating. Ash provides amazing binding retention, strength and dampening; Aspen adds durability and reduces weight to the core.
Fiberglass Matrix fine-tunes the flex profile of the ski.
Carbon Fiber stringers provide more pop and snap and are extremely strong and lightweight.
UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Sidewalls are extremely light, durable, and resistant to separation.
Extra Thick 1.8mm Durasurf 4001 Sintered Bases are made in the USA and have all the same great properties as Moment’s standard bases, plus added protection against rails and jibs. Moment uses sublimated graphics to eliminate the cracking and peeling common on die-cut bases.
Extra Thick 2.5mm Rockwell Steel Edge for more strength and durability
VDS Dampening System is placed over the edges and in several other key locations to mellow any harsh vibrations.
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.
