RECCO® Rescue System – RECCO® technology makes you searchable for organized rescue in the event of an avalanche accident. The two-part technology consists of a detector used by the rescuers and reflectors that are integrated into the apparel. Together they enable directional pinpointing of a victim's precise location using harmonic radar. The system requires no training and no batteries to function, meaning it is always "on" and ready. RECCO® reflectors do not prevent avalanches nor do they guarantee location or survival in the event of a burial. RECCO® reflectors are not a substitute for a beacon and adequate backcountry travel and decision making training.
