Giro Montane Helmet

The insanely lightweight Giro Montane Helmet bridges the gap between their lightest snow helmets and their famous bike helmets, using the featherweight but stable Roc Loc® 5 adjustment system in combination with Super Cool™ and Stack Venting and Thermostat™ control. The Montane comes with its own carabiner and Trip Clip for attaching the helmet to your pack while you're skinning or booting uphill.
Construction
In-Mold Construction - Fuses a tough polycarbonate shell with an impact-absorbing foam liner, allowing for lighter weight helmets with superior venting.
Ventilation
Stack Vent™ - Stack Vent™ aligns the center top vent of the helmet with the center vent of your goggles to help eliminate fogging while maintaining total helmet and goggle integration.
Super Cool™ Vents - 12 Super Cool™ vents pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing heat and stale air out.
Thermostat Control - Thermostat™ ventilation control allows you to custom tune the airflow through your helmet instantly with a simple, low profile button on the outside of the helmet.
Adjustability
Roc Loc® 5 Fit System - This groundbreaking fit system provides unmatched comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. Roc Loc® 5 allows you to easily custom tune the fit tension and the fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand. And it's almost 40% lighter than comparable systems too, making it the ultimate skull-hugging luxury.
Additional Features
Compatible with all aftermarket TuneUps systems
Safety Standards
Compliance - ASTM F2040/CE EN1077

        Comments about Giro Montane Helmet:

I do like this helmet, got the tank color, which stands out over all the gray and black ones that people have. Love the Roc Loc 5 fit system and the construction of helmet is top notch. I also like being able to slip my skullcandy earphones into the earpads, my only gripe is the chin strap pad needs one extra strap toward the clip, it doesn't want to stay in place, even knowing this before hand I would still buy it again.

              Comments about Giro Montane Helmet:

Skied with this helmet 5 days so far, in snow, sleet, rain, and gusting winds. Temps ranged from high 20s to mid 30s. Never had any problems with my goggles fogging up thanks to the stack vent design. The helmet fits me well, and it was simple to dial in a stable fit. Construction seems solid enough, I have not crash tested it yet! Designed as backcountry helmet, be aware that for on piste skiing it's much cooler than other helmets I've had. With mild temperatures and vents closed, I still opted to wear a beanie underneath to provide some warmth. Figure this as a plus for its intended use.

              Comments about Giro Montane Helmet:

One of the best - if not the best helmets - I have ever used. Giro does a great job of making this a very light weight, but feature rich helmet. This helmet weighs in at a mere 2 oz more than a Smith Maze, but has vents you can open and close without having to take the helmet off, custom rear fit adjustments, and the best is the vertical fit adjustment.

The vertical fit allows you to adjust how the helmet interacts with your goggles - you can actually make the goggles sit lower or higher on your face, and still eliminate gapper gap.

I have used this helmet in 30°+ temps all the way down to single digits. No need for anything else
