I wanted something simple to use across different sports and the GoPro is hands down the best option. The mounting accessories available make this the most versatile active camera you can buy. I contemplated the Contour alternative for some time before pulling the trigger on this. Couldn't be happier. Painless operation and awesome video quality.

I would have rated this a 5 but the fact that I had to learn the hard way that the outer case fogs up sucked. Ended up having to pick up the anti-fog kit - which GoPro should include for the outdoor kit.

The Go-Pro delivers! Amazingly crisp and clear video, good audio, and great photos.

Many options for how to get your perfect shot and all of them are pretty easy to use. The housing works reliably, though you must be careful to inspect the seal before use in water - even the smallest debris in the seal of the door can allow water in. I already lost one camera for exactly this reason. It is awesome enough that I bought another one though.

The adhesive mounting pads can be difficult to mount. It has consistently fallen off my short boards (I've been through 3 mounts already). Granted, I ride the gun in big sets, so it gets a pounding, but still it is annoying to have it come off. Thankfully the backup retention mechanisms have yet to fail.

It was recommended to me (though I haven't tried it yet) to sand the surface of the board first, then use a clamp to put pressure on it, and let it cure at LEAST 24 hours before using it.

Other than that, the camera is awesome and delivers exactly what it promises.

Use it when snowboarding/hiking, it is very comfortable to use and very easy to manage, high quality and small size make GoPRo perfect in its class!

As a Ski Patroller, all day I see kids and parents littered with GO PROs. I get why some skiers buy these devices; maybe you're an excellent skier or park rider but, most people are not. Like most recordings, you will never watch the footage and no one on YouTube wants to see your recordings either. Please do not buy this product unless you're skiing backcountry or you can do a misty 1080 with a grab. Just because you bought a 90 lift ticket does not make the footage memorable. Thanks.
