Jeremy Jones approved for the gnarliest, deepest backcountry lines ever slayed, the Karakoram Prime Carbon Splitboard Bindings are built and developed in North Bend, Washington. A 30 minute drive east puts you into some of the best testing grounds a splitboarder could ask for: the Cascade Mountains. Emerging from this hotbed of splitboard innovation is the Prime Carbon. The lightweight performance of the Prime Carbon features several new or improved systems. The board-binding connection, known as Solid-Ride, features more contact points for an even burlier locked down feel. However, the star might be Karakoram's new Power-Link system, which pulls double duty going up and downhill. While touring, Power-Link allows you to fix your heel for skating and side-stepping, while also locking the Solid-Ride interface into place when it comes time to connect the planks. Finally, the emblematic carbon highback remains super stiff and lightweight, making the Karakoram Prime Carbon Splitboard Bindings the pinnacle of their industry.
Power-Link Heel Lock Down – Pull up to lock heel, push down to unlock // Over-center cam locking // Power Link pulls double duty, securing board and binding through Solid-Ride for the shred down, while also allowing you to interface with Heel-Lock when touring.
Tour Mode Interface – Wide support cradle increases tour mode rigidity // Offset cradle allows snow to clear during entry // Quick release touring bracket allows for quickest and simplest transition // No removable parts ensures you won't lose any key components
Flip-Speed Riser – Easy flip up with pole basket // Dual height climbing risers
Sleeved Axles – Independent sleeves rotate freely on a fixed through axle (similar to a bike axle) for the stiffest and smoothest touring pivot.
Heel-Lock – On-the-fly heel lock down // Release load equivalent to DIN 6
Ride-Stride Walk Mode – A -8° forward lean setting to help you stride further with every step because the highback isn’t pushing against your calf
Power-Link Solid-Ride – Easy and ergonomic connection to the Solid-Ride interface. Power Link pulls double duty, securing board and binding through Solid-Ride for the shred down, while also allowing you to interface with Heel-Lock when touring.
Solid-Ride – Four attachment points create solid connection between binding and Ride Mode Interface // Heel stay pins push through attachment loops driving snow and ice build-up out of the way // 30° to -30° Stance Angles // .5 inch increment stance adjustment // Fits 3.25 inch to 3.5 inch width ride mode inserts
Ride-Stride Ride Mode – Allows you to preset your forward lean between 0° and 22° - in 2° increments - to give you better leverage on your heelside turn and make your ride down more powerful and enjoyable.
Wide Contact Points – Improve responsiveness between bindings and board - CNC machined parts have all unnecessary material removed to create the lightest splitboard binding available.
7075-T6 Heelcup – 2x stronger than standard aluminum // CNC core outs maximize strength-to-weight ratio // High sidewall supports boot for better power transfer and grip while side hilling // Flared sidewall cups boot for better fit
Air Strap – The lightest toe strap, ever.
Ride-Stride Forward Lean – Saving energy in the backcountry can be the difference between going for a second lap, going for a longer tour, or going home because you’re wiped out. All Karakoram splitboard bindings come standard with patent pending Ride-Stride forward lean with a Walk Mode and a Ride Mode, to help you save energy, whether touring or riding. With Ride-Stride technology, you don’t have to fiddle with small parts while your hands are cold to adjust your forward lean, just simply rotate the forward lean adjuster 90° between Walk Mode and your preset Ride Mode - set and forget. Ride-Stride is the fastest and easiest forward lean adjustment available.
Carbon Fiber Highback – Feather-weight performance // Biaxial weave carbon fiber and multi-layer composite layup give optimal combination of stiffness and comfort // Stiff Flex // Designed specifically for splitboarding
Open Binding Chassis – Binding can twist with torsional flex of snowboarding, creating uncompromising board feel
