Ahh, weekends in the mountains. The lift lines are teeming with new friends to be made, and every zone you hit is filled with traverse tracks through all of your landings. Skip the lift served skiing and head straight for the backcountry on the Faction Agent 90 Skis. Laid up with ultralight paulownia wood, reinforced by carbon, and featuring 5mm of camber underfoot, these backcountry skis are designed to take you beyond the boundaries and into the unknown without feeling like a pair of wet noodles on the descent. At 92mm underfoot, it might not be a full fledged pow slayer, but when you're trying to stay light on those long approaches, you'll appreciate the sacrifice. Kick turn, glide, and slide your way up without blowing it on the way down with the Faction Agent 90 Skis.
M Tip Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over 150 mm of length.
5 mm Camber – Maximum rebound and quick turn initiation.
Medium Flex – Forgiving and damp through choppy snow, but doesn't seem washy at higher speeds.
Medium Turning Radius – Excels at all speeds and in all conditions. Quick edge-to-edge without feeling hooky.
Flat Tail
Lightweight Freeride / Touring
Paulownia Wood Core – Paulownia is a very light hardwood that is stable and easy to machine. Cores made with this material are ligther than Balsa/Flax cores, but are more expensive and require a lamination layer such as carbon fiber to improve responsiveness.
STP Technology – A patent-pending process used to press a small wave into the length of the ski. This creates a 'pre-stressed' core with increased torsional strength, letting Faction use less wood to create lighter, more forgiving skis with above-average edge-grip. For 14/15, Faction developed a variation of the technique that provides a perfectly flat base.
Carbon Fibre – Laminates like carbon fibre are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Phenol Binding Plate – Phenol is a hard plastic material that secures the binding screws. The one-piece design fits most touring bindings with centre screws.
Gloss Lacquered ICP2112 Topsheet – Used on most Faction skis, gloss lacquered ICP2112 topsheets are colourfast and look great. The lacquer is applied to the ski after pressing.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
