I really liked the streamlined look of this backpack, and was super excited for it to come in! It's so cheap, thought I, and so cute! I had previously enjoyed the Recon style before my dog got to it, and was very happy with The North Face's quality products. So when it arrived, I was naturally excited.
But then I tried to fit my books in it. Not nearly enough room for a student. There is too much room at the top of the pack that seems wasted in my opinion.
Then I set it on the ground. It rolled flat on its front. The curved bottom is not a good thing!! I got black so I could have lived with it getting dirty, but forget about any of the cuter lighter colors!
Also, the organization is missing. I don't like that it is only has two pockets, and the smaller one is very very small :(

As much as I really liked the look of it, I don't think this is a good fit for students with lots of books or anyone who likes the look of a clean backpack. Sorry, North Face- you didn't impress.

Great bag for everyday commute!

By

from Downtown San Diego, California

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

I bought this bag for everyday commute only storing an iPad and Laptop but not much of anything else. I will say there isn't a lot of storage space. Other then that great sturdy bag that takes the load off my back each day. Adjustable chest straps are convenient and comfortable. Worth every penny at a great price for a reliable bag.

North Face Vault Backpack

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

I really like this backpack, it is light and durable. The only flaw that I can find is that it does not have an outer pocket to place a drink or bottle.

Vault Backpack

By

from Merced

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

The backpack fulfills all the requirements I could ask for and is the perfect size for my school supplies. It would be perfect if it had a laptop section but it doesnt. But other than that its perfect the way it is. It's durable and thanks to the belt clip it's awesome for riding my bike to and from campus because the backpack doesn't move around as much like others do. Highly recomend this backpack to anyone and to friends.

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

Feels great and looks great. Holds all of my books for classes and even some clothes. If folded the bag stays compact. For a two zipper bag, there is a lot of space. I don't like the the velcro on the inside. Looks like it's just slapped on there. Could have at least x box stitched it. My 15 inch gaming laptop is a tight fit but could my laptop is a bit big for a 15 inch. Maybe could have had a bit of stretch to the laptop pocket.

It's too small. I don't know how people here are saying it's the perfect size for school, because I can't fit my books in there. Besides, I don't understand what the point of making backpacks long instead of wide and spacious is. I can't use this for school.

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

I bought this backpack after reading amazing reviews by commuters. I thought it would be perfect for everyday commute to work. But a few weeks in and the straps seem ready to tear off. I don't carry anything too heavy, ( wallet, book, make up bag and occasionally my lunch). There is no reason for the straps to be ready to tear. I heard so many wonderful things about The Northface backpacks, but as of now I am really disappointed.

Comments about The North Face Vault Backpack:

I loved this backpack when I first got it. I am I highschool student. I got this just before the school year, and school started at the beginning of August. It is now mid September, and the right strap is only holding on by two threads. I carry the average weight in this backpack for a highschool student, so I don't see a reason why mine is ripping while my friends' bookbags (also Northface, just different styles) have held up for two and counting school years. Mine hasn't even made it through a semester. I do not have another bookbag that I can use in the meantime if I send this one back to get repaired or replaced. I was told that this would be a great backpack, and I was expecting to get several school years out of it. I am very disappointed.

My son just started 1st grade. It was time to upgrade his "preschool" backpack with a style and quality backpack that would take him through elementary and beyond. My son had tried this bag on at a local store and I was sold. It is a bit big for him but he's growing and he'll need a bag to carry all his school "stuff" for years to come.
