The R1.5 fabric seamlessly varies fleece densities throughout the jacket, thanks to BioMap, an innovative knitting technology (codeveloped with Malden Mills) that blends different-weight fleeces without cutting fabric or adding seams. A more-open grid structure under the arms and down the sides enhances breathability (and matches the pit zips on our hard shells); curved mesh grooves inside the elbows, on the shoulder blades and behind the neck facilitate mobility and minimize bulk; and "closed" knit in the core ensures warmth where it matters most. With stretch throughout and a brushed, wicking interior for next-to-skin comfort. The collar, cuffs, pockets and reverse-coil, center-front zip are glued, complementing the clean, minimalist design.
