Moonrise Jewelry is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, a tiny peninsula that is home to the largest expanse of maritime wilderness still remaining on the East Coast. There, where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, the founders' creativity merged with the intention to create new opportunity in their rural community. In 2003, Liz Watson and Meredith Restein combined their talents to launch an innovative jewelry brand blending artistic design with community development, ethical sourcing, and environmental stewardship. All of their designs are handmade by local artists they have trained at the Moonrise Jewelry studio in Eastville, just two miles from the beach where their vision first appeared on the Chesapeake's horizon.
