Best-in-class 47mph in Electric Mode
Keep your speedometer under 47 mph, and the electric motor that's part of Fusion Hybrid's 2.5L Atkinson I4 Hybrid engine is all you need. (It's also fully responsible for running the A/C.) But if you've made it past the gridlock, the gas engine let's you open things up. And thanks to something called late intake valve closing (LIVC), you won't even notice the transition.

Regenerative Braking System
Regenerative braking captures energy normally lost during deceleration and stores it as electricity. In fact, in regular city driving, the all-new Fusion Hybrid will run off of the battery entirely. And that means less filling up. Which means less gas used overall. Which also means low emissions. Which doesn't make bumper-to-bumper traffic so bad after all.
Eco-Responsible Fabric
The standard cloth seats in the all-new Fusion Hybrid are made from 85% post-industrial yarns - stuff that would've ended up in a landfill.
SmartGaugeTM with Ecoguide
Watch this first-in-class* instrument cluster build the moment the key connects with the ignition and you'll know. You're going to wind up smacking the hundredth person who asks you to do it again. Most notable graphic on the screen is the Efficiency Forest. The more efficiently you drive, the more lush it grows. Overdo it on those quick starts and leaves disappear. When you turn the car off, your stats are displayed on the screen. So not only is Fusion Hybrid capable or growing leaves, it'll use those leaves to teach you how to be a more efficient driver.
