Review :: C-Métisse features a diesel hybrid drivetrain combining: - a diesel combustion engine: the V6 HDi DPFS, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox developing 150 kW (208 bhp) that drives the front wheels, - two electric motors in the rear wheels, each developing torque of 400 Nm with output of 15 kW (20 bhp). With its diesel hybrid technology, C-Métisse respects the environment. This is particularly true in the city in ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode – an "extended'", completely silent all-electric mode with a range of around 3 km at 30 kph – as well as on roads demanding successive acceleration and deceleration. In this second case, the hybrid architecture makes it possible to limit consumption by using the two forms of energy together.

Particulate Filter

The particulate filter traps and burns the particles produced by the engine. With the direct-injection common rail technology, the level of particle emissions from the HDi engine was already particularly low. With the PF, it drops still further to a level that is barely measurable. In this way, the engine goes well beyond the future environmental standards of the European Union.

The HDi Engines

Citroën has developed a range of high-performance solutions in recent years, as part of its global environmental protection strategy. These solutions include a range of low-pollution engines with the HDi (direct-injection diesel) engines.

Stop & Start

With the Stop and Start, the engine stops just before the vehicle comes to a standstill (traffic lights, traffic jams, etc.). It starts again automatically and instantaneously as soon as the driver takes his foot off the brake pedal to move forward again.
