REQUIREMENTS: A pair of wet weather boots, that do not look like snow boots, that I could wear anywhere, including the office, in the early fall/late spring when there is lots of rain and 50's - 60's temperatures. SIZE: I wear a 9.5 - 10 depending on the shoe. I ordered the 10. There is room in the front and MUST be worn with THICK socks. The size works well for me. LOOK: They're cute. The brass style buckles add a nice flair. I purchased the all black pair which works very well with my wardrobe. I can see wearing these in any situation with no problem. VERY CUTE with skinny jeans. Would be great with tights (with a THICK pair of socks) and a dress and/or skirt. I felt comfortable wearing them in my office (I work in management). What's nice about this boot is that they are NOT oversized or bulky. COMFORT: Comfortable and easy to wear all day. QUALITY. I wish the laces were different. They feel as if they would easily break. Additionally, they don't pull tight very easily, you have to pull each section through the loops to tighten. Additionally, you need to fully open all the laces to take off the boot. I much prefer the laces on the Tivoli which are more easily managed. WATERPROOF: I cannot comment on this as I have not worn them in outdoor conditions for hours on end. However, I am wondering just how waterproof the leather upper really is. As for stepping in puddles and slush, that would be no problem at all. I am however wondering about the wood heel, and how long that will hold up. I prefer the bottom on the Tivoli. However, the heel on this boot does dress it up a bit and looks nice. WARMTH: The reference to "an insulated waterproof shell" is misleading. Yes there is a separate lining from the leather outside on the upper part of the boot, but I see no warmth factor to that at all, it's just a fabric lining. It does however have the ability to close on your leg, preventing anything from getting in, but see no warmth factor in these boots at all. OVERALL: This is a very cute boot. Nothing wrong with it, but it seems more style over function, but don't get me wrong, there is a lot of function to this boot. PURCHASE AGAIN? Not sure. I would rather own a second pair of Tivoli's because they are cozy and feel like a pair of sneakers. I don't feel that way about the Conquest Carly.

I LOVE these boots. LOVE the color. LOVE the straps and buckles. However, the heel completely wore away after a few weeks. Everything about the fit is great, but obviously Sorel's priority in making these boots was being fashion forward, NOT creating their usual great-quality boot. I am very disappointed. Usually Sorel boots are built to last. These were not.

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I've been a supporter of Sorel for years. Always thought you can count on their quality. Well not with these boots. They look good for the first few time and then started to fall apart. Really disappointed and strongly recommend to avoid this product.

Cute, not especially functional

By

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I love these boots, I received them as a gift after I hinted at them. I was living in extreme conditions at the time, feet of snow, temperatures well below zero. They aren't warm, there is no insulation in the toe, just a rubber lower. The laces and grommets are very fragile. My main concern with them was the way the heel fell apart. The "wood grain" heel is a thin piece of paper essentially, it fell away from the shoe to reveal a white plastic block underneath. So they are falling apart, and I haven;t had them for a year yet. I didn't wear them daily, and I waterproofed them as soon as I received them, they still didn't hold up. They fir fine in the calf, and I like the height of them. I am disappointed because I grew up wearing Sorel, and have had great experiences in the past. I don't think I'll be buying any more "cute" boots from them, sadly.

Beautiful Boots, Poorly Crafted, Snug

By

from Cleveland, OH

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

These boots are really cute, however, I purchased them and when lacing them up, a grommet fell off with no way of snapping it back on. Plus, they were snug around my calf. If you have muscular calves, I suggest you pass on these boots. They also run a little tight in the foot area so I recommend that you go up a half size.

Fabulous! So fashionable and functional.

By

from portland oregon

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I saw these boots in 3 or 4 places before buying them. Each time I saw them, I wanted them more and more. They are the perfect mix of color, style and functionality. The details in the laces, the buckles, and the leather placement make them a really unique and interesting looking boot. I am usually and 8.5 and I find they run true to size…maybe just a tiny big, but with normal to thick socks they fit well. The only negative comment I have is that there is a ridge that runs along the back heel inside the boot that hits the back of your ankle in a funny way. If you were to try and walk long distances or through snow in the boots it would definitely be irritating. That said, I didn't buy these boots to go hiking, so I think they will be fine! If you have a very high instep, they good be a little hard to get on and off.

Cute but No Insulation

By

from MN

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I should have read the description on these more closely- I was looking for a new pair of WARM, insulated, snow boots for freezing/and below temps..winter in MN! These boots are good-looking, but very thin in the footbed/sole so you feel the cold almost instantly if walking in snow or slush. They are not lined with much of anything and therefore are not good for winter temps. even with thick socks. I'll have to trade them in for the chunkier ones with the liners.

My first Sorel. So cute that I had to buy in spite of a few negative reviews. And glad I now own these beauties!

By

from Ks.City

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I read tons of reviews and was afraid to order.so good that I took the plunge even after buying a pair for my daughter in which the lace ring broke off and a calf strap broke when she first put it on out of the box. My boots are beautiful. I think these shoes should just be handled more gently as one reviewer suggested and I see nothing about these boots that my cobbler could not fix if needed. I am 5'8" and weigh 170 and wear a size 10M. They fit great even the toe box accommodates my bunions because it is not only generous but the rubber is soft and "gives" just enough. Can't wait for a rainy day to have an excuse to wear them and I will definitely be gentle with them because they are so cute! The also accommodate my orthotics if I choose to wear them however they really feel good without them. The leather and the canvas look to be of good quality. I plan to post again in a few months to update on how they worked out for me.

Love the Style, but Not Super Comfortable

By

from Asheville, NC

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

This boot has a great look to it, I love the detail to it and will be perfect for the cooler fall weather. I wanted the color that was black with sort of a green color, but it was sold out, so I went with the solid black and I like it. I love absolutely everything about this boot except for the comfort factor. The back part of the boot, just above the heel near the ankle, rubs when I walk. Even if I pair it with nice, thick socks, it still rubs. And it's not a fit issue, the fit is fine, it's just something uncomfortable about the construction of that area. I decided not to return them since they're fine when not doing a lot of walking.

Compliments Everyday!!!!!!

By

from Alaska

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

This boot is my all around choice for not just a boot to throw on when it snows outside and I dont want my feet getting wet but it's the go to boot for my fashion pick. I can wear it with almost anything and it goes well with many styles. I wear a size 8/8.5 I never wear a 9 in anything so I knew that it was between and 8 or an 8.5 but after trying them on at the store I realized that an 8 was perfect even though thick socks would make it feel too tight but an 8.5 would be too big and my heel would be slipping up and out towards the top of the boot. I choose a smaller size than I would usually but it is personal preference. I would recommend going up have a size in this boot so you can wear thick socks. Other Sorels will be way too big if you go up half a size and thats me speaking from my experience. I was outside with my girls in very little snow but mind you I was still standing in snow for an hour and my feet stayed warm. I wouldnt recommend this boot for strictly warmth since there are plenty of other options from Sorel for warmth but I was glad that my feet didnt give out to the cold within that hour. Very good quality no flaws in the materials so far.... Its a bit chanllenging to slip on real quick unless I had loosened the laces all the way to the bottom but other than that nothing againts the boot structure and materials. Very cute boot wont go wrong if you are only buying it for style.

Nice, but expected better quality

By

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

The boot is great looking and comfortable. My only problem is that after a month of wear, used in light snow and slush as well as dry, the heel shows a bit of wear. The material is peeling at the edges, where it inadvertently got light damage from a normal bumping into a curb or a rocks, etc. For the price and Sorel's brand I expect better. And this problem with the heel should be covered by warranty.

Love These Boots!

By

from Syracuse, NY

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

These boots are exactly what I wanted. They are warm, waterproof and the size was pretty true. I wear a 7.5 - ordered 8, fit great. I have a normal size calf, boot fit fine - no struggle to get them on. Only issue I had with the boots is like everyone else writing these reviews. The bottom strap broke on both boots within 2 uses. I am going to take them to a shoe repair shop, I think it is an easy fix. Having said that, at this price, I should not have to spend money on a repair after wearing the boots twice.

Beautiful Boot!

By

from Plymouth, IN

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

This is my first pair of Sorel boots and I love them. I love the style of them; they're a fashionable boot that is also waterproof, which is exactly what I was looking for. They're not as warm as I thought they were going to be, but I think some thick socks will help that issue. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8 and I ordered the 8 because other reviewers said to order a size up. The 8 fits great so I recommend that as well. I do understand what other reviewers say about the heel rubbing a little, but I wore a warm wool sock with the boots and that helped a lot (so a thick sock fixes that issue). The boots are also pretty hard to get off, make sure you loosen the laces all the way down, that helps some. Even with these few issues, I love the boot and look forward to wearing them during the cold, snowy northern Indiana winters.

Great Boots!

By

from Syracuse NY

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I just got these boots in the mail a week ago. They are very stylish and I can't wait to wear them! My only issue with these boots was that when i got mine, the suede was uneven on different parts of the boot. I ordered 2 pairs, one black (for myself) and one trail (for my sister) and my sister's boots had very smooth suede. I ended up returning mine for another pair which i just got. It doesn't look as bad but the suede is still slightly uneven. I think I'm going to keep the boots because I don't want to pay for shipping again and it doesn't look awful but i was a little annoyed by the whole process. I do think the boots run a bit small so i would recommend going half a size up...especially if you plan on wearing a thick sock because they aren't made for super cold weather.

Hate them

By

from Philadelphia

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I really wanted to love these boots. However, I ended up just hating them. They are hard and just feel like the quality put into these boots was thrown out the door. The boot rubs my ankle so it makes it uncomfortable to wear. But what is even worse is the fact that these boots ARE NOT waterproof. I could not figure out why my feet kept getting cold, considering Sorel’s claim to waterproof heavy-duty boots. When I decided to put my hand inside the boot, it was completely WET! What a waste of a boot, not to mention there are NO liners available for this boot. Save your money for another pair of boots!

The right size and very stylish

By

from Estes Park, Co

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I ordered cinnamon and black. The color of the cinnamon was far lighter than I expected, so I kept the black. I didn't have any problems getting my feet in or out and found the sizing quite consistent with other brands. I was very comfortable in a medium thickness sock (wool but not double layered). I'm not sure why people find it a half size too small. I have a wide foot and fit 36/37, 6 WW, and 6.5B depending on the brand and style. Also, the lacing meant the boot fit nicely against my 11.5-12" diameter calves.

Love! But heels are faulty

By

from New Canaan , ct

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I bought these last year and wore them a lot, in snow and rain as well as dry weather. The heels are made of plastic with a glued on material that looks like wood, but it's either leather or similar. It started to peel off in spots and I glued most of it back on with gorilla glue. Needless to say, it's not an optimal situation for a Sorel boot. I would recommend just a rubber heel. The look of these boots is so wonderful, but they aren't really ideal for an adventurous sort, or even someone who goes out in wet elements.

Perfect

By

from Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I got these last Christmas "from" my husband...I live in the northern Indiana/southern Michigan area, an area referred to as being in the "snow belt" (near Lake Michigan), and we had snow on the ground last year from November to March. I was looking for something that wasn't too casual or that looked too much like a snow boot so that I could keep them on all day and not just out in the snow. I literally wore these boots every single day except for when I dressed up for Valentine's Day and New Years and I LOVE them. Now, I don't spend extended amount of time trudging around through snow, but I definitely had to walk through it on a daily basis (including through snow piles when people don't want to shovel pathways), and I never noticed a time where my feet were cold or wet. Many supposed waterproof boots don't work in the cold weather because they are not insulated and your feet freeze the rest of the day. I also LOVE the height of these because I am short and the mid-height boots just make my legs look stumpy - it's so hard to find tall winter boots. These boots ARE really difficult to get on before they are broken in, but now they are fine. Quality is great - they look the same as the day I got them. I even spilled the liquid from a pre-cooked breakfast casserole all over them on Christmas morning (yes, the first time I wore them), before I put leather protector on them, and they came completely clean with a little bit of water. I am back this year to get the same pair in brown!

Happy feet

By

from Orlando, FL, USA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I wear 7.5 in everything. Bought an 8 after reading reviews of "slightly small", and then after trying them on thought maybe I had some extra room because the heel area is kind of loose. So then I ordered a 7.5 just to be safe. Too small!! Toes are at the end with one pair of wool socks. Keeping the 8. Pretty safe to say they run one half size too small. They are slightly tough to get on the first few times but after working the laces it's not too bad....and taking them off is much easier than putting them on.. The workmanship is great and speaks quality. They look really good even on my 5'2" stubby self. Comfortable so far. Casual yet classy. Solid investment..they are built to last. Will make my work trips to the NW this winter much more bearable than last year. Good buy.

Love these boots!

By

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I bought these boots recently for a ski trip to Jackson Hole. They were the perfect snow boot -- warm and super comfortable and also very stylish too. I got so many compliments on them. They were perfect for apres ski and I even wore them out over jeans at night a few times too. I highly recommend these boots if you are looking for a good snow boot that looks cute too. I am a 7 1/2 and I bought an 8 because my foot swells sometimes and also to accommodate wool socks, but I could've gone with the 7 1/2 probably. Either way I love love love these boots.

WOMEN’S CONQUEST™ CARLY BOOT

By

from Cleveland, TN, USA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I LOVE the look and quality of these boots. I'm so excited to wear them more often now that we are approaching the fall and winter months. I feel that they are just a little on the smaller size. I'm a 7 to 7.5. I got a 7.5 and they fit good. With a thicker sock, I probably should have got a size 8. They definitely keep your feet warm however, I haven't tried them out in the snow yet.

Conquest Carly Boot

By

from Portland, Oregon

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

Most of the reviews for this boot are good but there were a few that had me waiver for a minute on whether to purchase. I'm glad I decided to get them because I love them. As for size - I am between an 8 and an 8.5. I got the 8.5 and they are perfect. As for the heel rub concern - the design of the boot is such that the heel has a lip on it and you can feel it when you wear these boots. However, it is not uncomfortable and it didn't give me blisters or irritate in any way. Heat factor - there were lots of reviews about how these boots are not insulated. Guess what? These boots are not insulated. If you are looking for warm, snow boots - Sorel makes about a thousand. I was looking for glorified rain boots for Oregon weather, particularly when I was out watching kid soccer. These boots are perfect. I can wear 2 pairs of socks if the weather is cold and a normal pair if the weather is mild. I love these boots and random people give me compliments on them all the time.

Great boot, but with some flaws

By

from Denver, CO

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I've scoured the web for a good snow boot, and I adore this one. But I'm sad to say it's missing some key snowy weather features that would make it perfect. Pro's: -- looks fantastic! I've gotten lots of compliments -- wide top with a draw string, making it easy to get your pants tucked in without them bunching up -- waterproof -- comfortable enough to walk around in all day (though I added an insole) -- high quality construction -- the design, using an extra buckle and laces, hugs the shape of your ankle for a flattering look Con's: -- no lining! my feet are freeeezing without double socks -- slippery! I have to be way more careful on ice than I am with my normal shoes -- shoelace on one of the boots broke after less than 3 weeks

The Sexiest Winter Boots Around...

By

from Aspen, CO, USA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

These are the sexiest, most stylish, winter boots I've encountered thus far. They can literally dress-up any mountain-girl outfit and men love them! That being said... they're not that warm (although they do breathe!) and the most annoying aspect of them ... drumroll please!... they're a nightmare to get on and off. I like boots that fit (not loose) and these do but I need to untie each one before getting on... then untie midway before getting them off. It takes time of course. Because of the cons, I sport them about twice weekly. Not sure about the longevity of them as I only had them about 6 weeks (so about 12 wears) and since people have complained about them falling apart, I'm somewhat careful when wearing. Anyho... fit well, comfortable, quite snazzy but there are drawbacks.

I'm obsessed!

By

from Vancouver, WA

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I've been obsessing over these boots for the last year and finally decided to splurge! Just my luck, the Cinnamon boots (the color I was dreaming of) were on sale and they had my size. These boots are definitely worth the full price. Waterproof, comfy and warm. I get comments on them every time I'm out and about. As expected, they took a few outings to break in, and now I wear them all the time. Perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest. Plus I'm sure they'll keep me warm when I move to Calgary this winter. I am so obsessed with these beautiful boots that I just ordered them in black too! Unlike other reviews I found these boots true to size. I can even wear thick socks with them without hassle. Highly recommend these!

Had These For Years, Now Buying Again!

By

from Portland, OR

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I absolutely love these boots. I bought my first pair 2 or 3 years ago when these first came out. Really sad that they don't sell the black/olive color combination anymore, but I wore these boots to death in the winter. They are not so "snow boot" looking that you can't wear them fashionably. In fact, they look great with skinny jeans and leggings and I got many compliments. They have a moto boot style about them, yet they are functional and comfortable. They do run small. I normally wear an 8 and was only able to get them in size 9 the first time around and they were fine. This time, I ordered them in 8.5 and it's perfect. They have also improved on the wood veneer heel and are now making them with a more durable rubber/composite heel. A+ Sorel. And please bring back the "Twill" color combination of black/olive! So cute.

Disappointed

By

from Milwaukee, Wi

Comments about Sorel Conquest Carly Boot - Women's:

I bought these boots at my local shoe store. I was looking for a replacement for my Uggs, which I hate but keep me warm. Although I knew they wouldn't be as warm, the salesperson told me I could buy inserts for warmth. Since they are super cute I was sold. I still think they are super cute but unfortunately not comfortable and difficult to wear as well. As soon as I went online to order liners, I found out you can't get liners for this style. I had already worn them so too late to return. The other issue I have is everytime I put them on and take them off - it is extremely difficult. When you loosen the top laces, the bottom laces get tighter. It is very difficult to loosen any of the laces. This is a flaw. Additionally the reviews others have mentioned about the heel rubbing also has happened with me. I barely noticed it at first. Now, I cannot wear them b/c it hurts so much. I still think they make a great product but this style boot has flaws. It is cute but but the lace issue as well as the heel rubbing is the main reason I would not suggest.
