Bought this to use as my Patrol pack at my local hill, Works excellent. We have a high patroller count, so we aren't required to carry a whole lot. Also makes haulin stuff to and from the lodge excellent. Clip my helmet on the straps, and strap my skis in and away i go.

This backpack has been great all season. The features of this pack are amazing. Being able to carry your skis to and from the hill to the car, or take them out into the back country is great. The hydration pocket and liner is a nice touch.

The stitching and quality of the pack are great as well. Zippers are very durable and don't snag at all. The cable closure system to carry skis is very well done, the only issue that I might have with that system is the latch to go around the upper part of the ski could be a little more robust, but so far so good.

The only problem I have with the pack is that when carrying skis across your back is that the pack sort of bends a bit, but that's to be expected. When you strap it around your wast and chest it doesn't feel all that bad, you just have to remember your carrying them and watch for low hanging branches or signs.

If you're looking for a lightweight, no-frills pack the Dakine Heli Pack is for you. I really like the small front pocket feature as well as the sturdier hip straps. I'm a little disappointed with the shovel handle holder though. It doesn't fasten very well at the bottom and the top strap is a little funky. If you're looking to carry lots of backcountry equipment I'd go with the Dakine Heli Pro Backpack. If just carrying a light load is what you want, this pack is awesome.
