Comments about Mammut Avalanche Probe Plus 280:

This probe is pretty lightweight and very easy to use. On a couple other probes, I've found it difficult to tell if the probe was fully deployed and locked into place before it was too late and the probe came apart when using. With this probe, the locking mechanism is clearly visible when locked.

On the other hand, the probe does feel a bit flimsy. I wasn't able to punch through harder packed snow as easily as I remember with other probes. It did an adequate job but just required a bit more muscle.
