BCA Float 18 Airbag Backpack 2012 (CO2 CONTAINER EMPTY): The BCA Float 18 Airbag Backpack is the minimalist model for out-of-bounds, off-piste, freeride, and mechanized skiing, with room for your avalanche essentials and a bit of food and water. Designed to minimize excavation time by preventing burial, the Float Airbag deploys in 2 seconds behind the head, protecting the upper body without sacrificing movement. The BCA Float 18 Airbag Backpack’s airbag is reusable and the air cylinder can be refilled. (CO2 CONTAINER IS EMPTY AND NEEDS TO BE FILLED)

Comments about BCA Float 18 Airbag Backpack:

I was optimistic at first by the whole avalanche airbag concept, but now that I have one it makes complete sense. This airbag is the most affordable pack out there, and the fact that it is refillable is awesome. According to the BCA website I can take it to one of their authorized scuba shops and it will cost me $20 to refill it. Everything fits in it great but if you throw a water bottle into the mix you are starting to max out the capacities of the pack, which is fine for sidecountry and the day tourer. Overall I do like the pack, and my pre-season quiver is telling me that I will like it when it comes to this winter.
