Comments about POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket:

I love this body armour - you barely notice you're wearing it. First day of the season I went down on my chipped elbow - didn't feel a thing!!! It paid for itself then and there. Ultimately this is cheap insurance - accidents happen and this just affords you a little extra protection.

Comments about POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket:

This jacket is sweet! I do not ride without it!! I snowboard and this makes me much more confident. I bought a complete set of Poc body armor this year and it has already more than paid for itself!! This jacket also replaces a hoodie that I used to wear. Now I only ride with a long sleeve and this armor under my jacket, plus no one can tell I am wearing it. Body armor is the best purchase I have ever made in 16 years of snowboarding!!

Comments about POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket:

I use the VPD in all skiing, resort and free ski. On groomers it really protects your elbows and shoulders and throws the injury back on reckless skiers and boarders that go beyond their limits and plow into you. In the pow, it significantly reduces the pain of impacting something solid in a fall and we all fall. I have a large family, wife and 9 kids, baby 14 months does not ski, the rest all do. Most of us drop EX runs but the rule in our house, you don't drop in without your body armor on. Be wise, wear it any time you ski or board. It is a small investment compared to one visit to the ER. Pluses include, light weight, wicks moisture away from your body, VPD 2 gel plates forms to your body in about 5 minutes, in 20 minutes you will forget you have it on. It's not bulky! Not visible to others unless you take off your shell to show it off. This is one product that is a bargain at twice the suggested retail price. Glad POC keeps the price down so more of us can enjoy the piece of mind owning VPD body armor provides. Your not just buying protection but real peace of mind. Comfort comes from knowing you are doing everything you can to make your family safe. Live for the sport, don't die for it. Get the VPD 2 for spine and chest and the vpd 2 shorts. Sooner or later you will be glad you did.

Comments about POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket:

This is relatively small and lightweight for what it is.

I bought this for snowboarding last year because I chipped a bone in my elbow. I was also having trouble with a recurring shoulder injury resulting from repeated falls. This helped neither problem, nor was it designed to. In fact, riding with this made both injuries worse. Snow, even icy(ish) snow, is softer than the elbow and shoulder pads. As soon as I put this on and give the pads a little tap, it is became clear that this was not designed for the types of injuries I was trying to prevent.

As reviewers on other sites have written, this is designed to prevent injuries which occur due to impact with hard objects such as a tree, rock or a rail. Unless there is good chance your upper body will come in contact with these objects, this will only get in the way while snowboarding.

If I was downhill biking or riding a dirtbike, I probably would not leave without this. I do neither though unfortunately.

Comments about POC Spine VPD 2.0 Jacket:

I was very disappointed. For the cost I would expect some mobility and comfort. The front pad does not allow for any arm movement, and the pad bows out when u do move ur arms. The elbow pad rubs the elbows because there is no padding between the vpd and ur skin. Very poor design , fire the product tester and design team. The concept is good for vpd but go back to the drawing board. Size is ridiculous! I am 5,9 170 and no way it would fit- 46" is a good fit for me. Would not mind the cost if it wasn't such a poor design. I returned it.
