Dynafit TLT Radical ST Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013

The Dynafit TLT Radical ST Ski Bindings build on the reputation of the legendary Vertical ST with the addition of increased step-in ease, better resistance to lateral shock at the toe, and super simple flip-up climbing height adjustment that's a breeze with your ski poles. Dynafit veterans will adjust to the step-in mode immediately and love the flip-up climbing lifters; newcomers will wonder what all the fuss was about!
Toe
Radical Toe Piece - Forged 7075 Aluminum baseplate and arms with hardened steel toe pins
Side Towers - New Side Towers aid step-in entry and reduce chances of pre-release from lateral shock.
Crampon Slots - Reinforced crampon slots in baseplate for ski crampons
Four screw mounting pattern rather than the traditional 5 hole Dynafit pattern
Toe Release Lever - Ratcheting toe release lever should be locked for skinning.
Heel
Alloy pivot post with polymer body and stainless steel heel pins
Release - Lateral and Vertical release both originate at the heel, and release values are set with separate screws.
Speed Step Climbing Bar - New design climbing bar is super easy to adjust while skinning using a ski pole.
Integrated sliding Anti-Friction Device (AFD) in brake pad
Tour Mode
Tour mode is accessed for all positions by rotating heel 1/4 turn clockwise. Height adjustment is done by flipping the Speed Step Climbing Bar up or down as needed. On the fly adjustments with a ski pole are simple and precise.
Toe lever should be in locked position for skinning.
Heel should only be rotated in clockwise direction.
Additional Features
Uses Torx 20 screws instead of PoziDrive #3 screws
One Size Fits All - Binding will adjust to fit all boot sizes.
Dynafit Compatible Boots - Boots with Dynafit toe and heel fittings are required to use this binding.
Ski Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
100 mm brakes included

Comments about Dynafit TLT Radical ST Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013:

I have had almost all the generations of TLT bindings since their beginnings. I use them for both backcountry and area skiing and have found them to be amazing for both. I don't like icy conditions or hard crusty bumps so I don't go there. I do ski soft bumps, steeps, deeps, trees and all other conditions with them with great success. I also love how light my setups are. This is really evident riding on chair lifts. No more knee pain like I experienced in heavy alpine gear.

There is no downside to these bindings for me.

Comments about Dynafit TLT Radical ST Ski Bindings (100mm Brakes) 2013:

Not as hard to get into and out of as its difference from traditional bindings would suggest. Rear piece is easy to turn to set up for climbing once you get used to it. (Before removing skins, be sure to turn back to downhill mode so brakes are engaged and you don't risk a runaway ski if you drop it.) Three heel support options are fine for a modest athlete like me, but a steeper climber might wish that a higher-angle option was available.
