Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots 2013: The Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots are the answer to those of you saying, “but I need a stiff flex”. Well the Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots have your stiff flex, but it’s a smooth and natural linear flex that overlap models simply can’t achieve. New for this year Full Tilt has added a replaceable non-slip natural rubber sole for easy walking on pavement, ice, and everywhere in between. The First Chari also features Full Tilt’s highest performance Quick-Fit Pro Liner with Intuition® foam that molds 100% to your feet for powerful control, warmth, and comfort like no other.
Flex
Flex Rating – 10 (1 Softest – 10 Stiffest)
An all-mountain directed 7 ribbed tongue provides a stiff, responsive, smooth natural flex. This natural flex is made with a free hinging rear cuff that never bottoms out. Full Tilt tongues are inter-changeable; making it simple enough to swap flexes on-the-fly (extra tongues sold separately). This design also provides even pressure throughout due to the cables that work just like your favorite shoelaces.
Materials
Full Tilt boots are up to 2lbs/900g lighter per pair than other boots due to a minimalistic shell that contains no overlapping plastic or bolts. The thinner plastic also increases the feel and responsiveness, making these boots much quicker than other pairs.
Liner
The Quick Fit™ Pro Liner is Full Tilt’s highest performance moldable liner.
J-Bars create powerful internal ankle hold down.
7mm High Density Intuition® Foam: this closed cell foam is made to transfer power and energy to the shell and is body heat activated to mold 100% to your feet and shell during use or can be instantly heat molded by a shop in minutes.
Powerwrap adds an additional layer of ergonomically shaped High Density Intuition® Foam to wrap around the outside of the upper liner, providing added energy transfer and horsepower to the shell.
Stance
99 mm width last and updated toe box - this width is very narrow from heel to toe, designed for people with straight and narrow feet
NEW Full Tilt Soul is the reincarnation of the Original 3-Piece Design, now with a modern toe box shape and an integrated replaceable natural rubber sole for non-slip walking & hiking.
Additional Features
Easy On and Off with tongues that open like convertibles and will never block your foot.
Rigid Bootboard maximizes responsiveness and feel of the snow.
Aluminum ratchet buckles are made for durable on-the-fly micro adjustments.
3 Cable closure eliminates deadspots for a smooth even pressure fit.
Replaceable natural rubber sole for non-slip walking/hiking.

Comments about Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots 2013:

I was skeptical of these boots because of the old design, but everyone who has them loves them. Of course, I got sized by three different bootfitters first and they all said that Full Tilt was a good option for my feet. Tried on the Classics, they fit great, then I ordered the First Chair for the stiffer flex, rubber sole, and slightly bigger toebox.

They are perfect. No pain at all, my feet stay warm (Have skied in 0 degrees and been fine), and I don't even care to unbuckle them when I grab a beer at the lodge. I ski with them pretty tight, and they are perfectly responsive, have the right amount of flex (I would call it a 120-ish flex) and there is absolutely no pain.

I thought the brand was just a lot of hype from park rats and people too obsessed with styling, but they are great. I had Dalbello 3 piece boots before these, and I like these much better. Got the liners heat molded and there are no pressure points at all. Also super easy to put on and take off. But Im never in a hurry to take them off.

Comments about Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots 2013:

This boot is highly modifiable, which is one of the best qualities this boot offers. It is also very comfortable, has a unique width for narrow but not too narrow feet, micro buckle adjustment and is very easy to put on and take off. The three piece design also prevents bulging of the inside part of the boot whilst flexing hard. This boot, hands down, is one of the best on the market!

Comments about Full Tilt First Chair Ski Boots 2013:

I used to be a custom boot fitter. I bought these boots to replace a pair of Flexon Comps from 1981. Unfortunately the shells to those boots got tossed after the liners were completely shot and I couldn't find parts. These new boots have the same fit, which I love! They could have been perfect if they had used an old style liner with a tongue. Sure, you gotta watch snow getting in the boot, but that was an easy fix. The problem: The overlapping liner put pressure on my left calf in a way that made my leg cramp. The right one felt fine. I wish I could say I skied them, but even with all the knowledge of a pro boot fitter, I couldn't figure out a way to overcome that overlap and the problem it caused.
